The Roxburgh

The location was very good for access to Berwick - it was by the seafront, and only a short drive from the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really excellent. The room we were given was unfortunately on the second floor, but it was en suite and very comfortable. And, although the Roxburgh itself does not serve lunch or evening meals, it is easy walking distance from a number of pubs and restaurants serving good food. We enjoyed our two nights' stay, and would happily revisit.

The climb up and down the stairs was difficult for two elderly visitors!

Location was fantastic with a beautiful sea view. Room was quiet and very comfortable. Lovely promenade to walk along right behind hotel. Host was very friendly and made a superb breakfast.

A comfortable short stay as this nicely decorated and well run hotel. We arrived early and staff were able to help us leave bags so we could go and explore the city, which we appreciated esp as it was pouring with rain. Our room was nicely decorated with a good ensuite bathroom. A minibar fridge in our room was helpful as many places don't seem to have them. There was a good breakfast in the cafe downstairs.

Nothing particularly, our stay was very short due to our itinerary and we had no issues.

It was clean

It was not in Berwick-upon-Tweed. It is in Spittal which is a good 40 minutes walk away from the train station. But the place listed on Booking.com as in Berwick (not great if you arrive after a long train journey).
