Room was clean, bed was comfortable, location was great.

The surprise $25 charge to park made it not worth the money for the hotel. Parking was listed as an amenity, but you had to click on “more” to find out that the parking was not included in the hotel cost.

Large, comfortable room with an imaginative, great mural on the wall. Reception staff were helpful. Easy parking although needed to pay $25 extra. Easy walk to pier and boardwalk.

Breakfast was self service, was limited and served in a crowded area and finished at 9. Sausages looked unappetising and no one was eating them. The shower taps didn’t turn off properly.

Great place for families visiting Santa Cruz.

I loved the access to beach and boardwalk, secured parking and breakfast. Room was very spacious.

Not much to say negative. Maybe if I had to find something perhaps needs better overall lighting in room and bathroom and ventilation in bathroom. But the room window opens so not to hard to air out if on 2nd or 3rd floor.

It was very pleasant

It was clean and modern. The balcony was nice, the room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. It was walkable to the beach and boardwalk.

It was $25/day to park and the street was quite noisy. The room had a view of the ocien but it was very far away and the skyline wasn’t that great with buildings in the way of the view.

Location was very close to the pier and boardwalk. Felt very safe. Breakfast was fantastic, it would have been great to have more tables but food was really good and topped up often.

The lift broke down but not the hotels fault as these things happen.

Nice Hotel With Convenience to Local Attractions

The property was clean and updated. It was also within short walking distance of both the pier and the boardwalk.

•The parking fee should have been included in the stay fee. •The view wasn’t all that great. We booked the ocean view room but you barely could see it over the rooftops of the buildings in front. Also, the balcony view is awkward and there is a pillar? that cuts into the view. •The room was very narrow. •WiFi was terrible. •Staff was not very personable. They were friendly, but just didn’t engage with us.

We will stay at this property again - its location is paramount.

The location of the La Quinta was the best. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk (though closed for the season except for the Arcade) is a very short walk away. Having spent our teens surfing STEAMERS LANE in Santa Cruz, it was perfect for us to be near walking distance of the Lighthouse (now the Surfing Museum open Thursday-Monday 12-4 pm) to view the surfing history. We also enjoyed the free Monterey Sanctuary Exploration Center, down the street from the La Quinta. It's free and has something for every age group. The wharf is a short walk away and great coffee (brewed in Santa Cruz) can be had at the Ideal Bar and Grill that is located in a spot before you embark on your wharf walk. The breakfast at La Quinta is your usual fare of breakfasts that you find...but we found granola, bananas, eggs, et al, that satisfied our breakfast needs.

Parking in their underground facility is $25/day, so be prepared. I knew it when I booked our room.

The location was good. Rooms were good size and comfortable. Parking garage cost extra but was well located, felt safe and was easily accessible.

While the location was close to the boardwalk, the views from the room were not as good as they appeared in the pictures. Access to the water was not too far but looked closer in the pictures.
