Functional stay with room for improvement

We recently stayed at Il Glicine during our visit to Sestri Levante. The house is functional and offers the basics for a short stay. We especially appreciated the working air conditioning — a real comfort during the warm summer days. As for Sestri Levante itself — while it has some lovely corners, we found parts of the town to feel a bit worn down and less well-maintained than expected.

That said, the property could benefit from some updates. The terrace, for example, is in need of renovation. The outdoor furniture (sunbeds, table, chairs) is quite dated and the canopy could use some care. While the mosquito nets were definitely useful, a proper screen door would have made things easier when using the main doors. A clear guide for how appliances work would be helpful. Two of the four gas burners didn’t function properly and needed a lighter to ignite — ideally, a sturdier lighter could be provided instead of the small café-style ones. We also noticed the kitchen equipment (cutlery, pots, pans) wasn’t as clean as we would have hoped. In addition, many of the electrical outlets are outdated and required an adapter to use standard plugs. As for Sestri Levante itself — while it has some lovely corners, we found parts of the town to feel a bit worn down and less well-maintained than expected.

The house is on a steep narrow road. The owner does not speak English but her son helped us very good.

Schöne, gepflegte Ferienwohnung mit großartiger Aussicht

Eine der schönsten Wohnungen, die wir in Italien je hatten. Die Strasse zum Haus etwas eng und kurvig, wird mit wunderschönen Ausblick belohnt. Komfortables helles Haus, vollausgestatte Küche, reichlich Geschirr. Für uns (2 Paare) 2 grosse Schlafzimmer mit bequemen Doppelbetten, 2 schöne Bäder. Ausreichend Handtücher und Liegetücher. Gemütliche Terrasse mit Liegestühlen und neuer Aussendusche. Von hier und dem kleinen Balkon Weitblick über Olivenbäumen, Sestri Levante und bis zum Meer. Tolle Sonnenuntergänge jeden Abend. Sehr netter Vermieter, hilfsbereit und mit reichlich Informationen. Probleme wurden zügig gelöst. Sestri Levantes ist eine schöne alte Stadt.mit Geschichte. Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Hervorzuheben ist die besondere Lage der Altstadt zwischen 2 Stränden. Gute Lokale mit typischer ligurischer Küche.

Fantastische locatie en heerlijke accomodatie

Die hele grote terras met prachtig uitzicht was fantastisch, zelfs met een douche om af te koelen. Fijn dat er overal horren waren om vliegen en muggen ''s avonds buiten te houden. Binnen was alles lekker ruim. Alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig. Het is daar heerlijk rustig.

Tutto. Casa bellissima, pulita, completa di ogni confort. Avevamo portato detersivo per i piatti e per la lavatrice ma non c'è servito. Abbiamo scoperto con stupore che avevamo la lavastoviglie con le pastiglie gia pronte all'uso. Stessa cosa per la lavatrice e per il resto della casa. A disposizione anche maschere da snorkeling e l'ombrellone che è stato molto utile. Il giardino magnifico per noi e per il nostro bimbo che si è divertito tantissimo. Abbiamo mangiato tutte le sere fuori all'aria aperta con una vista mozza fiato. Cucina super attrezzata con forno, fornelli, macchinetta del caffe e per i tost. C'è sembrato di essere a casa e forse anche meglio 😍

Ottima soluzione per weekend top!

Posizione ideale, tranquillità a 5 mins di macchina dal centro di Sestri Levante. Veranda super e panorama mozzafiato. Francesco (host) molto disponibile e cortese. Location da salvare tra i preferiti, perché ci ritorneremo!
