Borrego Springs Stargazing Home w/ Mtn Views

It was a good value for what we were doing (about $115 per night for each of us with two people), which was driving every day into Agua Caliente County park to meet campers. It had the basic dishes we needed. Loved the backyard and the way it didn’t face other homes. Great location as it was on the way towards where we needed to go every day but also close enough to town to get dinner when we wanted that. Very glad there was a coffee maker and filters.

A couple of very small things, but again the price was right - there was no olive oil oil or salt and pepper, so we bought some and left it. There was no aluminum foil, and a few little plastic baggies would’ve been nice. We would’ve also preferred that it was clear in the listing that there was no laundry.

The views of the desert were unobstructed from the back of the property, and very private.

The dishwasher was not in working order.

It was close to town but yet felt like no one was around. It was spacious and clean. Our host was fabulous and very accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

The location is excellent. It is close enough to Borrego Springs city center for convenience, but far away enough to be a good location for stargazing. An Orion 6 telescope was available, though it could use a mirror alignment & cleaning, and perhaps an additional lens. The walls and several interior doors were painted with artistic designs, a nice touch. Furnishings include 3 beds, living room sofa and chairs, coffee table, and a 4-person dining room table & chairs. The kitchen equipment included: coffeemaker, blender, oven, stove, microwave, cooking utensils. The home was easy to find and access with the provided code. It has a driveway, but no garage access. Backyard: generously sized with 4 Adirondack chairs and 3 small tables. Additional bath towels, bed linens, and kitchen towels were available. The property manager was available by text and very responsive. The provided guest instructions were thorough.

No washer/dryer. Their Booking.com info does not state that they have either, fair enough. Even so, I felt a little resentful that in spite of having rented a 3 bdrm/2 bath house, I still spent vacation time at a laundromat. There were some housekeeping challenges, which I've already mentioned to the property manager. The master bedroom closet and kitchen pantry are functional, but both seem to be used as spare equipment or furniture storage. Both could use some editing and organization. Outside: the two large trees could use some TLC, at least some pruning.
