The fireplace and that it had hot water
Lot of things. I guess you get what you pay for.
It’s an outdated house. With old dishwasher which you can’t use anyways cause there’s no dishwasher pods available, fridge is old. Utensils guess what? Old, messy and dirty. So wash everything before using it. Coffee maker we didn’t even attempt to use after seeing everything else. There was a mouse trap with the cooking bowls inside the cabinets. Pots and pans are the cheapest you can get at dollar stores. Sink needs a new faucet cause is old as well. There was no paper towels or dish towels available so we had to use hand towels. We had a 3 nights booking stay so I wasn’t gonna buy everything. I think this is a bare minimum for an airbnb to provide.
The unfinished first floor, in my opinion, should be shut down until done with the renovations, but it’s the entrance to the place. To open the door you need to put in a 10 digit code on the locker, who’s got time to remember all that. So make sure to share with friends that are staying with you in case your phone is out of service, or dead so you don’t get locked outside. Usually a 4 digit code is more user friendly. There’s open holes on the walls downstairs that I was scared of a mouse or bugs coming out of it at any time. Hot tube can’t be used it was left dirty and of course empty. Mattresses are old not giving you a very comfortable sleep because it’s sagging in the middle. I had an experience with another booking that Vacasa managed as well, and it was also not the greatest spot. We saw actually a cockroach in the kitchen. I guess I should have learned my lesson to never book with Vacasa again. Location is not too far from mount snow but you really need a AWD or a 4x4 car to get to the place, specially in winter days cause is a dirt road with steep hills, can get very icy so be careful with that as well.
