Hillcrest Hideaway

This cabin has the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, if I could have stolen the mattress I would have! The cabin is extremely well stocked with everything you can think of and enough towels to last a month. The kitchen was very well stocked too with plenty of plates, glasses etc. The body wash etc was a really good quality one too. It’s in a very quiet location so was lovely to sit out on the verandah on a rocking chair and just listen to the birds. We had our dog with us and there was a lovely long path that went alongside the lake which was nice to walk on a morning.

We never managed to figure out how to use the tv, the instructions didn’t seem to match the remotes. We watched Netflix instead when it rained all day on one of our days. We couldn’t figure out the remote for the lights either but both issues could have been operator error 😀

Close to a lake and view of the mountains

Lots of spiders in webs in between the windows and screens so you couldn't open them. Mattresses needed replacement.

Hillcrest Hideaway is a lovely vacation getaway in the North Georgia Mountains. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and has every utensil and gadget you could possibly need. Each bedroom plus the loft and main living areas have TVs. Full sized washer and dryer. The best part is the outside areas. There is a long screened porch with plenty of seating and beautiful views of the lake and mountains. There is also a lovely seating area with rockers and a swing surrounding a fire pit in the backyard off the back deck.

The only thing that was a tiny challenge for me was the 7 or 8 steps up at all entrances. I'm a little older, and I had to carry my small dog in and out for each potty break. The photos clearly show this. I just didn't think about it until I was there. It would be of no consequence to most people.

The view was wonderful. The house was great. It was good to be able to separate couples to different areas of the home. It was cozy with all sitting in front of the fireplace. The parking and location was perfect. Even the local stores could deliver.

There was nothing we didn't like. It was perfect!
