Awesome staff, nice food and great view

The view from the room is breathtaking. The room is spacious and has huge windows. The bed is comfy and there's everything that you might want during your stay. They gave us a complimentary bowl of fresh fruits. The dining area is spacious as well. We have to inform them what we want an hour before we want to eat. The portions are generous and the quality of the food is really good. I loved the generous breakfast, Egg Kothu, Banana Fritters and Egg Drop Soup. The staff are very helpful and courteous.

There was a fire on the hillside a bit away from the hotel but it seemed quite scary. The grass on the hills was burning for a while. The hotel staff informed the fire brigade but they didn't turn up. The fire spread around the area and eventually died down because of the wind. I don't know if this is a regular occurrence but it has nothing to do with this property. This is more about the area. We were safe and perfectly fine.

From the minute we arrived to the second we left we felt totally welcomed, comfortable and at home. The wonderful staff greeted us with exquisite strawberry tea and a home made ginger biscuit, extending it to our guide/driver. The property is truly fabulous with amazing views over Kandy from every room. Built in a heart shape there are lovely touches of symmetry, from embroidered pillow cases and towels in the rooms to the heart shaped dishes in the dining room, reflecting the shape of the building. The food was outstanding, a delicious dinner served with care and a smile and a brilliant Lankan breakfast, our best so far in Sri Lanka. There is nothing not to like about The Summit, I was only sad we didn’t book for longer. A real treat in a Country full of amazing places and people.
