Ruby Claire Hotel Geneva by IHG

Location, staff, facilities, vibe, decor, etc etc. Overall very very good

In the spring/summer the duvets are too warm, but if you remove them you'll feel cold, I think it would be nice to have cooler duvets for this particular time of the year. Also they could be a bit bigger... they are a bit short, but is me being picky as everything else is great

Location was good. Clean. Room was reasonably sized for the price and location.

Many rooms per floor so it takes a while to get to the room. And room lacked basic amenities like slippers and phone to call the lobby.

Great location on Rue du Rhone near the lake in the centre of Geneva. Geneva is inherently expensive but this hotel offers comparatively good value. The rooms are clean and quiet and the top floor bar / restaurant has two nice terraces and is a good place for a drink or to do some work. Good transport connections to Cornavin or down to Planpalais and Carouge.

It doesn't have a gym - but then you have the whole of Geneva and the lake to run around if you want some exercise!

The location is perfect, plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes on your doorstep. The lake is a short 3 minute walk away and the staff were all fantastic. Restaurant/bar has plenty of space and cocktail choices. The shower was good size and good water pressure. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it did look good. Had a balcony and was a decent size but we didn't use it as we were out most of the day.

Our room layout was a little odd with the bed facing the wrong way (this is apparently only in a small number of rooms) and it was very small, there were no side tables or drawers and small hanging space so could not unpack fully. We had a large suitcase and found it difficult to open without putting on the bed. I knew no coffee or iron would be in the room (not a problem) but if you are on the 7th floor and want to iron your clothes you need to walk through bar and recpetipn to go downstairs, not the end of the world but would be more comfortable if we stayed on another floor (they have an iron and coffee room on every room execpt the 7th). Overall I still think this is a good choice but would be more careful with the room selection.
