Château de Salvert - 4 Cottages

The gite was lovely, great open space, big kitchen with good equipment. WiFi works well.

We had a superb time, it was our second time staying here and we adore the gite, the hosts and the pool area

Beds aren't the most comfortable, but it's fine for a week.

Wunderschöne und geräumige Wohnung im Schloss in toller Lage und mit großem Pool um die Ecke. Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Besitzer. Es hat uns sehr gefallen.

We really loved the peace and the beauty of the chateau and grounds. The gite had been beautifully converted and was comfortable and spacious. Michel was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good Engish which was helpful as our french isn't great! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the sanglier family, complete with piglets, and watching them at the end of the garden each day (behind a secure fence)! Nearby Saumur was very pretty and had some nice places to eat.

We were surprised to learn on arrival that that there was a timetable for pool usage allowing only two to two and a half hours for each family per day. We were lucky in that we got to use it more as the other gites weren't full, but would have been disappointed if this hadn't been the case. It was also a bit tricky being asked not to wear sunscreen in the pool area as there is no shade at all - two of our party burnt as a result. Outdoor seating (plastic loungers) needed cushions really (though we understand not having them might be a hangover from Covid) and it would be nice to have more fans available for the bedrooms.
