Sterling Valley Home ~ 9 Mi to Stowe Mountain!

The propriety is in a beautiful location very close to Stowe Town as well as the Sterling Gorge Falls and other trails as well. The house has all the accommodations, great mattresses and plenty of space for a big family or group of friends. The kitchen is fully equipped and all the bathrooms are equipped with everything you might possibly need.

Being that the house is literally in the woods it is expected that it might have mice. However, what is not expected or acceptable is to see mouse droppings on a mattress that you will sleep on and in a kitchen drawer. Every night we would return we would see the mouse running on the countertops. We contacted the owner to ask if they can have their maintenance come bring some type of trap but the only response we got was that she will tell the cleaning lady for the next guests - how’s that of any help to us? She clearly couldn’t care less! Also what’s not acceptable is finding in the bathroom someone’s jogging pants with their dirty underwear in it. All the closets were a mess! There was a dead fly nicely folded in a face towel as well. Whoever is responsible for cleaning is more concerned with making swan designs with the towels rather than cleaning the place. Also the filter water container they have in the fridge in the main house should be replace because the water literally tasted like water from a fishbowl. Lastly, a couple of suggestions- it would be nice to have some Adirondack chairs around the fire pit instead of having to take the chairs from the dining set on the deck down. Also the separate room above the garage has no blinds no curtains which makes it impossible to sleep in a little in the morning - black out curtains would help In the end even though these negatives overshadow any positives that this place has, ultimately the reason I would not book this place again is the owner’s lack of responsiveness and total disregard for the guests’ experience.

Property was perfect for my family trip of 8 people. The separated loft made it nice for our small children have their own place to not disturb the rest of the family. Location was perfect and was a good home base for day trips to nearby cities. The property homey, comfortable and was well stocked with everything you could need. Would definitely stay again.

The property was stunning, the house was decorated for Christmas so beautiful, like a winter wonder land. Would definitely go back tho this house.

My only issue is, there was no TV in the main living space over the fire place would have been perfect . To watch tv we had to go to the bedroom, it would have been nice to be able to come downstairs, have my coffee, Sit with my partner and watch the news or at night watch a movie. Other than that. I have no complaints.
