Vaznik Farm House Apartments

Our family stayed at Vaznik Farmhouse for 2 days, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We originally booked it because we thought the farm animals would keep the kids entertained for a few hours each day — but what we didn’t expect was to experience a true fairytale-like farm life in the middle of the forest. After arriving, we immediately went grocery shopping because we already knew we wouldn’t want to leave the farm the next day at all. And we were right. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and authentic, surrounded by nature and forest, yet only about 10 minutes from Bled. The kids absolutely loved spending time with the animals — feeding rabbits, chickens, turkeys and ducks, petting the horses, and watching the cows and goats. We took walks through the forest and discovered a little treehouse hidden on the property, which felt magical. There were also toy excavators and tractors, which were a lifesaver with a toddler, and our son even got the chance to see and touch a real excavator up close. The owner, Peter, was incredibly kind and welcoming. We also had the opportunity to buy homemade eggs and delicious homemade dry sausage from him, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic and special. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having meals outside in the yard. If you want your children to experience real countryside life, surrounded by nature and forest, far from the noise and crowds, this place is absolutely worth visiting. Just make sure to buy groceries before arriving — once you get there, you truly won’t feel like leaving.

We had the best time. Our 3 year old woke up each morning with pure excitement to go straight out and see the animals. The dog and the horses in particular were a massive hit. Our lovely host let us brush the horses in the morning and collect the eggs. We were made to feel completely at home. A lovely family, farm and surrounds. Highly recommend!

I would recomend bringing some food and wine up, the drive back and fourth all though not far is fairly windy and i personally wasn't keen to be driving up and down. That being said, once we we were at the farm we didn't want to leave

Host is super responsive and friendly. Apartment is spacious and the view is beautiful from the property.

Peter and his wife made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The location was beautiful and definitely worth the steep drive (which we quickly got used to doing). The apartment on their working farm was perfect for what we wanted and the arrival pack of homemade jam, and elderflower cordial was much appreciated. Our children loved seeing all the animals and helped out on the farm one morning. Peter gave us lots of extra suggestions of places to visit, whilst sampling his homemade snops too. Our 6 nights in the area flew by and we would love to return one day to explore more, as this part of Slovenia is beautiful.
