Villa by the Pyramids

Kind of don’t want to leave a good review as I want to keep this place all to myself it was so good. Mohammed organised everything and helped us in every situation, nothing was an issue. Adaway was the best and became family by the end we miss everyone already and will definitely book again.

I loved how so much space we had in the property, it was extremely beautiful from every angle. Moreover what truly makes this property stand out is the owner and his staff who manage it personally. Doctor Mohammed did everything with in his power to make our stay memorable.

This villa has only one issue which is its entrance. When you want to enter the villa you must first go thru 3 gates and pass thru stables which for foreigners with women must be very scary but once you enter and meet doctor Mohammed all the worries fade away and you realize you are the safest spot in Cairo which is Mohammed’s property

On first appearance the property looked good. I liked the size of the property, the pool was great for the kids, and the villa was quiet. We were a party of 7 and had plenty of space. There were beautiful horses outside that we got to meet and feed, which was loved by the kids and the females in the group. The staff was friendly and did help out to get something's from the local store when asked, and fixed a few broken things when asked. The villa is around 10-15 minutes by taxi from the grand entrance to the Pyrimids. The beds were clean, and the bedsheets looked new, very important. The additional free breakfast every morning, was a nice addition. Doctor Mohamed was very nice and friendly.

As with everyone else, the villa is located somewhere different than what's mentioned on booking.com. the villa is located near a highway, but divides off into smaller side roads, which are unpaved. To reach the villa you have to go through about 800meters of stables on both sides ( 3 gates) (unsuitable for most taxis to go down) then the villa is tucked away in a nice gated off section, which is then reassuring. But is unsuitable for handicap persons, or those with limited mobility. The villa was clean, but some parts like the kitchen made us feel uneasy. ( See pictures attached) The kitchen was dirty, there was only one clean useable pan available, the others were either broken or was dirty/well used. The cupboards were very dated and falling off their hinges. The BBQ outside had complimentary burnt pepper's, and someone kindly left us 3 empty bottles of wine by the pool. One night we got a knock at the back door at 23:30 at night, for a delivery of towels, we didn't ask for. I understand this gesture came from a good place, but it startled one of the guests, that late into the night. This was resolved the next morning as the worker, does work hard, and really tired his best. I just don't recommend knocking on doors this late :) Taxis provided by villa were alot higher than the norm. We ended up using Uber, and selecting the option "pay in cash", which were significantly cheaper. Additionally the added extras: safari horse rides, would of been great, but were a little too pricey otherwise we would of taken them. Overall, I'm torn writing this review, because on one hand the staff do try their best, and the villa has potential. But when you're greeting with left over food, the feeling of being watched, the experience doesn't become pleasant. I wanted to be honest, as a European visitor we have standards and this place sadly falls below par. Like I said the place has a lot of potential.
