The location

We only got one key for two couples so it was a real inconvenience. It seems like they look for an excuse not to pay the deposit. They put bleached towels and claimed that we bleached them whereas we didn't even utilise the towels.

Overall, our experience had some positive aspects, but there were several issues that I feel should be addressed. The owner of the hosting agency was much more welcoming and responsive on WhatsApp than she was face-to-face. Unfortunately, the interaction during checkout was particularly uncomfortable. The way she knocked on the door on the day we were checking out was so forceful and abrupt that it felt as though the police were at the door. A more welcoming and professional approach would have made a big difference. There were also a few maintenance and cleanliness issues in the apartment: The lounge rug was dirty and needs either a deep clean or replacement. One of the shelves inside the kitchen cupboards was loose. The bathroom sink/drain was draining very slowly and needs attention, possibly with a suitable drain cleaner or maintenance. When we checked in, we were told that the TV was connected to Netflix, and this was also indicated in the house rules. However, this was not actually the case. Regarding the TV, the agency owner informed us after two days that it was connected to DStv instead. We were out when she requested a code for the DStv connection. When we returned, we sent her the requested code, but we never received any feedback or further communication from her. When she later asked me about our stay, I was surprised to hear that her explanation was that the owner was not available when we were available. In a situation like this, communication is key. If there was an issue with the connection or if she needed to arrange a suitable time to assist us, this should have been communicated to us. Even on Monday, there was no communication throughout the day. As someone who is also involved in property rental, I was particularly surprised that there was no proper check-in inspection or checklist completed with us when we arrived.
