Roots Jungle Retreat

Its an out of the way place, in a lovely forest setting. Very nice for bird-watching, dipping in the river and enjoying nature. Friendly, laid back caretaker.

The restaurant was closed for the season so you need to bring all your own food - not a problem if you have a 4x4, but otherwise you are walking up the access road with all your things!

The hosts were so fun and friendly!!! They were extremely helpful with getting oriented to the island and the immediate local area. The setting is immaculate — remote and completely immersed in the high mountain jungle in Marigot just north of Kalinago Territory. It was stellar to ground the first few days in Dominica and get connected with the plants, cascades, birds, sun, and cleansing storm patterns at night. We chose to stay mostly off of our phones to match the energy of what the space was offering us, and it worked like a retreat where you completely connect back into nature and its cycles. We are forever grateful for Roots and the love that goes into running the space!!

location was awesome. peaceful and beautiful. the sounds of the river, birds, especially the parrots were lovely.

Power was not always available. no wifi in rooms. hot water was not easily regulated. the road to the property requires a 4X4 and good nerves
