The room was comfortable and the bed was great. The shades in the room do a great job blocking out the light so I was able to happily sleep in. The water pressure was good and there was lots of hot water. The receptionists are nice, and while not always present, are easily reachable by Whatsapp.

This hotel is actually called 5 de Octubre, and is really more in the Once neighbourhood, than in Recolecta. I think the neighborhood is fine but it did feel a smidge unsafe at night (not many folks wandering). I arrived while the receptionist was gone, and I didn't have the code to the gate (provided at check-in) so I had to message the "security" number on the door to ask to let in, and since I was arriving quite late with bags, it did not feel the best. My room's keypad was broken, so they gave me a physical metal key, but also asked me to drop off the key with reception each time I left the hotel. This wasn't a problem, except that reception wasn't manned nearly all of the times I walked in and out of the hotel, so I was just dropping the key on the table, and grabbing the key from the table when I came back, and this set-up didn't not feel the most safe. I could reach the receptionist via Whatsapp, but for a key drop/take, it seems like they were just OK with me putting it on the table (I messaged them that I had left the key, and they were like "great!" and when I came back several hours later, the key was where I had put it, seemingly untouched). I'm sure I could have asked them to come to retrieve the key from me, but I honestly wish there was just a person at the desk (instead of a person you have to ring). In my room, the shower floods the entire bathroom whenever you take a shower, and you have to use a floor squeegee (provided by the hotel) to sweep the water into a drain next to the toilet. Overall, super workable and none of these are major dealbreakers- just things to know!
