Mattertal Lodge

An amazing location in the beautiful hanging village of Embd, with stunning views right from our bed. The lodge is very well equipped and has a great coffee machine. We loved the beautiful hiking trails right outside the door and the charming, open-air rustic cable car up to Schalb. Being able to reach Zermatt by cable car and train without driving was another big plus.

We are late sleepers, so the church bells at 6:00 a.m. were a real drawback. They are incredibly loud, and the first morning call lasts quite a long time. Worth keeping in mind if you enjoy sleeping in.

One of the best places we have stayed in Switzerland. The apartment was spotlessly clean, modern, spacious and very well equipped. Everything has been thought of and we immediately felt at home. The absolute highlight is the breathtaking mountain view – even more beautiful than in the pictures. The location is wonderfully peaceful and perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the Zermatt and Mattertal region. The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. Check-in was simple and everything was perfectly organised. We would definitely stay at Mattertal Lodge again and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful place in the Swiss Alps. 10/10!

We had an amazing stay, the apartment is extrem cozy and everthing was perfect clean. The view on the mountains is ABSOLUTE STUNNING!! We want to come back

The view from the property is stunning. The coffee maker in the kitchen is fantastic. Easy to start a hike right from the doorstep. Great place for a family.

The property is quite isolated; restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores are all 20+ minutes away. The main bedroom appears to have been the former living room and opens right onto the dining area and kitchen giving the space an unusual feel.
