Greedy host ruined our stay over a chipped toilet brush with 400 EUR replacement ~10% of stay price.

I’ve never encountered such a shameless, petty, and outright infuriating scam from a host in all my years of renting. We booked this apartment for our nanny, expecting a straightforward and professional experience, but what we got instead was a masterclass in greed and absurdity. After checkout, the host had the audacity to send us a photo of a microscopic chip on the glass part of a toilet brush—something our nanny didn’t even touch, let alone damage. This flimsy excuse was apparently enough for them to justify extorting us for a jaw-dropping 400 EUR replacement fee. Yes, you read that right - 400 EUR for a toilet brush, as if it were crafted from crystal by artisans in Versailles.
