Really memorable stay.
Beautiful house, the pictures don't do it justice. Lots of space inside and outside, with stunning gardens. The kitchen was well equipped, with absolutely everything we needed. Beds and bedding were really comfortable. We had a really wonderful stay with extended family, and I would certainly recommend staying here.
Could be a bit cold as it's an old and drafty house. Still totally worth it though but I'd recommend bringing cozy socks and jumpers!

Home from home... lovely relaxing stay thank you.
The venue had a homey feel, lots of toys for kids around etc... although we didn't have any kids with us. Lovely spacious rooms. We all loved the lounge great for meetings and debrief and prayer sessions. Loved the big kitchen table we could all fit around and have team meals together so it felt like home away from home on a work trip.
The small radiators beneath the large windows blocked the opportunity to close the shutters thus stopping the heat to escape through the big glass windows. Also for me being able to close those shutters in the lounge and kitchen, especially on the first night when not knowing the area meant more security and privacy.

When heating upgraded and general downstairs cleanliness improved this will be ideal holiday stay.
The furniture and period features are lovely, especially the stained glass windows at the top of the imposing staircase. Upstairs cleanliness was very good as were the bathroom/shower rooms. All the bedrooms were very comfortable. The hallway downstairs doubles as a sitting room with games perhaps more suited to children. Lovely aspect in the lounge and the cabinets in the kitchen/dining room are impressive.
Unfortunately renovations were in progress and there was no central heating which we were only informed about when I telephoned 48 hours prior to arrival. An oil fired radiator was supplied for the kitchen and a 2 bar electric fire in the lounge. These were not really sufficient for the size of rooms. We bought 3 bags of logs for the fire in the kitchen which helped but the log burner in the hallway was non operational. A couple of other faults have been conveyed to the owner and I hope these will be addressed prior to more guests arriving.
