Beach Club Oceanview Apartment 1221-2 Palm Cove

Great location and pool facilities. Apartment location right near entrance and pool was very convenient.

Minor things that added up: There was no clothes airer to dry swimwear after pool time, that seemed like a pretty standard inclusion in our prior stays at the Beach Club. One tiny shampoo bottle was not enough for 5 night for 4 people, would be good if extras were provided. Also no salt, pepper or cling wrap in the kitchen which were also pretty standard from our prior stays in other units.

This apartment is part of the Peppers Ocean Beach Club, right on the shore at Port Douglas. It’s in an excellent position, right on the front with Ocean views to the front and Pool Views from the bedrooms. 2 large terraces and a large living area provide plenty of relaxation areas. It’s quiet, well equipped and was very comfortable for our family of 4. Car parking right downstairs was easy. The pool is fabulous for kids of all ages, plenty of noodles / toys provided and lots of space to play.

There is very poor internet coverage. My own phone network coverage wasn’t great and the apartment has no NBN, only a wifi ‘dongle’ that was supposed to be in the kitchen but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I was supposed to be studying online but was unable to get the wifi to connect. I emailed the agency who said they would come out to look at it the following day, but no one ever came. If you need a good internet connection for work do not stay here. We were surprised that there is only one small shower room for the whole apartment. We spent 5 nights in total at the apartment and it wasn’t serviced at all in that time. We were provided with 1 sachet of dishwasher powder and a couple for the washing machine. Peppers staff are really very unhelpful if you’re in a ‘Private’ apartment. They are very clear that they don’t want the headache of ‘extra’ guests so essentially turned us away when we asked for information. I asked them if I could buy / borrow a sachet of dishwasher powder on our last night and they couldn’t have been less helpful. This is obviously out of the owners / agencies control but is just something to be aware of.

Location & resort facilites were great! The room was very big and spacious

The showerhead in the main bathroom was broken. There were not many items in the kitchen to cook with or containers to use during our stay. Many of the light switches didn't turn any lights on.
