Casa do Losango - the Douro river as a border

The house is located in a rather remote area of the Douro Valley, located between vineyards and olive trees. It has everything you may need to have a great time. We loved every second of our stay and highly recommend it.

Mario, the host is super kind, caring and accomodating. The view is breathtaking and it is a very tranquil place. Great home made meals by Mario with local products and great wine. The atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic. Fantastic spot to embrace all nature and we hope to visit again! Thank you Mario for creating memories.

Location was beautiful if a bit isolated. A car is a definite plus if you want to make traveling in the area easy. Food was not included in the house rental but hosts did accommodate us the first night and even gave us some breakfast items. House itself was very comfortable for the three of us and views cannot be beat. Really enjoyed spending the evening on the main inn patio chatting with other guests (ones who were staying at the B & B part of the inn). Did not meet Mario as he was away during our stay but his daughter Caterina, her husband Pedro and their friend Kevin were incredible. Again if you are looking for a few days away from noise, this place cannot be beat. You will be surrounded by nature, nice people, good wine and incredible views. Just be prepared to drive a bit if you want to go to a town (nearest one about 15 minutes away). But you do have everything you will need right there including a great spot to swim in the river right down the hill from the inn (very short walk)

My only hesitation would be the distance you have to drive if you’d like to visit vineyards or do activities in the Pinhao area (takes about an hour whichever route you choose, or at least that’s what it took us). But the actual views of the river and surrounding area was probably more spectacular here than at Pinhao and much more peaceful.

The location is magic, the house is really cozy and with an amazing view over the river and the wine fields. Our host, Catarina was super nice and welcoming. We had a great night eating, drinking and chatting with a great group of people. It was indeed a great long weekend!
