The staff were amazing, so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The building is beautiful and very well maintained and located, a short walk from everything in Taghazout. The rooftop is wonderful and the breakfast and massages are great value.

The host was understanding and flexible when we explained the problem with the room. Although we had originally booked 2 nights and stayed for only one, he offered us a choice of compensation for the unused night which we used as a credit towards a spa treatment onsite. Really enjoyed the massage. The breakfast deserves a special mention. For 50 MAD per person, it is excellent value: very good coffee, fresh orange juice, delicious pancakes and pastries, plus eggs prepared according to your preference. The lady preparing the breakfast was particularly lovely and welcoming. The room has its own private bathroom/toilet, which is a plus (other rooms on the floor have only a shared bathroom & toilet).

The main issue for us was the very poor sound insulation. Although the windows are double-glazed, they provide very little reduction in outside noise. Whether the windows were open or closed made surprisingly little difference. Our room was at the back of the building, facing a square with a mosque only around 50m away. Given the regular calls to prayer, combined with the fact that Taghazout is a lively place where people and restaurants stay active until around 1 a.m. or later, the nighttime noise had a significant impact on our sleep. We were unable to fall asleep until around 5:30 a.m. The lack of air conditioning is not necessarily a problem by itself, but there was not even a fan. The rooms with private bathrooms are at the back of the building (which is not on the seafront) so not particularly well ventilated, and the room became very hot at night. This meant we had to choose between heat with the windows closed and significant noise with them open — while the double glazing did very little to solve the problem. The room is also rather small, with limited storage space for luggage and clothes (no hangers). Some basic amenities were missing, including a kettle, cups, toothbrush holder, shampoo and shower gel. Overall, we appreciated the host’s flexibility, the excellent breakfast and the massage, but the combination of poor sound insulation and inadequate ventilation made it difficult for us to get a good night’s sleep. If you are a light sleeper, we would recommend taking these points into consideration before booking.
