Spent 3 nights at Karibu Beach Resort in Pongwe and had a great visit. The staff were excellent and the Maasai guards became friends. Rooms were spacious and well kept and food was good. Other interesting places nearby like The Island and it is less crowded and touristy than Nungwi. Would come back.
I didn’t have any issues at all.

Clean room, very close to the beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Salted tap water, Evening power outages, Limited variety of breakfast options.

The location was incredible, the ocean stunning I had the beach to myself most days, walking to different restaurants, discovering starfish and amazing snorkelling, this is paradise, the food at the hotel is exceptional, the staff are wonderful, the bed super comfy and this is to me a hidden gem. I am a solo traveller and Iv never felt safer in my life.

Lovely relatively small resort right on the beach. I was picked up from the airport after a delay, arrived late at night and was given access to my room immediately- I could do the check-in the next morning, which was such a nice gesture. Staff was great and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend for a few quiet beach days!
