Ruim appartement in oude bakkerij

We (couple between 30-50 years old) stayed here for a week at the end of autumn. It's a lovely place, owned by a nice gentleman. He has transformed his top floor into an appartment and lives on the bottom floor himself. He responded very quickly when we had questions. It's located in a lovely little village with lots of outdoor things to see and do closeby. There is parking space on the property itself which is convenient. Also this has to be the absolute most decked out place we have ever stayed in. Anything you could need during your stay is there. They did a lovely job furnishing this place too. Old buildings like can get a little cold but the heating in this place worked great. The shower was lovely too even though not all of its options worked anymore. Because the kitchen was equipped so well we were able to cook some nice dishes and the bed might have even been nicer than the one at home. If you need to do any work that's also not a problem cause there is a desk area with a monitor and the WiFi can easily handle it. And lastly, there is a mountain of boardgames present here plus you can log in to your streaming app of choice on the telly so you never need to get bored.

The entrance of the appartment is through the back door, which first leads to the stables. From there you take the stairs, go through an old part of the top floor and then you get to the actual door of the appartment. Getting to see the horses every day was lovely but they do smell of course and this smell was definitely present in the appartment itself. Mostly in the kitchen. We grew up with animals and smells so it was fine but I can imagine not everyone could deal with this particular smell. Also there is a washing machine, which is great, but we didn't find any way to dry the washing inside the appartment. There was however a washing line in the old, untouched part of the top floor. But because there was no heating there and also not really any ventilation the clothes wouldn't really dry. I'm assuming you wouldn't have this problem on a hot summers day.

Ruim appartement, alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig. Prima bedden, goede douche. Fijne gastheer/vrouw, stonden direct klaar om onze vragen te beantwoorden. Je moet wel van het buitenleven houden om deze locatie te waarderen, mede aangezien het appartement zich boven paardenstallen bevindt.

De locatie van het appartement ligt in de buurt van Exloo en andere leuke plaatsen om te bezoeken.

In het appartement kan je niet zelf de afzuig installatie van de douche bedienen, dat kan alleen de eigenaar beneden bedienen. De hele nacht aanlaten is geen optie, want de installatie maakt een doordringend brommend geluid. De wandlamp in de keuken is kapot. Het appartement was niet goed stofvrij, zodat een vriendin met astma veel last van benauwdheid kreeg.
