Greenwood safari camp

We absolutely enjoyed our entire stay, from arrival to departure. The owner and the staff were very friendly. The entire environment was very hospitable. We especially liked the food (we highly recommend including it). The location is right next to the Mara reserve entrance gate and the tents are very comfortable (they come with power supply!). There are animals visiting the camp (including hippo's!), but there is a guard keeping you safe:) The owner helped us plan our activities during our stay and was a great help. They truly care about your experience.

Our days at Greenwood were unforgettable! Magdy was always very accommodating and helpful, and the entire staff—attentive and friendly—made us feel right at home. The buffet dinner was always varied and delicious! Our tent was clean and functional, as were the shared bathrooms. We arranged game drives through Greenwood, and our guide, Robert, was exceptional! We couldn’t have asked for anything better to make the most of our Masai Mara experience. Greenwood’s location is extremely convenient, just a few meters from Talek Gate (much quieter than Sekenani Gate) for entering the Masai Mara Reserve. Keep in mind, however, that if you’re driving there yourself, the 19-km road from Sekenani is very bumpy. Another positive note: the camp is home to many local species, including mongooses, monkeys, and a waterbuck, which will make you feel constantly connected to nature!

We chose Greenwood because some friends recommended it to us, and we couldn’t have been more delighted with the experience. From the very first day, we felt very well taken care of, and everything was perfect. The food was also very delicious, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was outstanding, especially Magdy, one of the owners, who was always attentive and made sure everything was going well. Her kindness and care made our stay even more special. We would like to make a special mention to Moisés, who was our guide and driver during the two day safari. He did everything possible so we could see the Big Five… and we did! 🦁🐘🦏🐆🐃 He was attentive to us throughout the entire safari, incredibly patient, and always kind and helpful. Without a doubt, a wonderful person and an excellent guide. Additionally, on our last day, Magdy had a very kind gesture by taking us to the village of Talek, which we truly appreciated. We take home a beautiful memory of Greenwood and the entire team. We would definitely recommend it and would love to come back! ❤️

We were delighted we booked Greenwood safari camp in Talek. The location, just outside the park gate, is unmatched and means you are surrounded by the sight and sound of wildlife, whether it's vervet monkeys, deer and mongoose running and playing around the camp or hearing hyenas, lions and elephants at night. We stayed in a budget tent which easily fit our giant backpacks and had two comfy beds inside. A very easy way of camping! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the site and all meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff also made us a packed breakfast and packed lunch for our full day safari which was much appreciated and kept us going well for the day. Magdy the owner of Greenwood also booked our safari for us prior to our arrival and also found someone to share it with us, reducing the cost. We really enjoyed our time at Greenwood, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the facilities were excellent and the wifi in the communal area was very helpful. Thanks also to Magdy for going to town specially to get us some cider and also for dropping us to the matatu when we were leaving. We very much hope to come back and would recommend Greenwood to all, it is absolutely the best value to be found in Talek!
