Lovely, clean and had all we needed

The cat from next door, as I could tell cats had been in or around the property and I’m allergic. Could of been doing with an actual gazebo to cover the hot tub for a little bit more privacy

Like a home away from home

Lovely stay overall and agree with the previous reviews. The place was cozy and comfortable, truly felt like a home away from home- but even better. Fully equipped kitchen, robes and towels available and the heating warmed the place up very quickly. The hot tub was a real highlight; although we’d seen comments about nearby new housing and privacy concerns, none of that was an issue during our stay- it felt private and we really enjoyed it. There are also some beautiful walks nearby, we hiked the Pendle Hill. Tip for future guests: if you don’t spot a freezer straight away, check the utility room- we only noticed it when checking the boiler.

When we returned from shopping nearby, someone was parked in our designated parking spot. However, the lovely next-door neighbour came out, explained it was family visiting for Christmas, and kindly moved the car with no hassle at all. It didn’t affect our stay in any way. Perhaps placing a cone in the parking space when the accommodation is booked could help prevent unauthorised parking in the future, guests could move cone themselves upon arrival. As a small suggestion, adding a mirror to the second bedroom would be a nice touch.

highlight - comfortable bed ... otherwise disappointing

booked for one night stay as we attended family function in Barrowford ... served purpose

general opinion is that the property is dated, tired and in need of better support / management ... - the images provided in the listing do not show current status ... - the document(s) package needs to be updated to truly provide info on the 'devices' provided ... - heating system control instructions are sketchy ... suggesting that a 20deg thermostat set point should be adequate because the property is 'cosy'. This may be true June~Sept, but at the end of November it is not, especially without continuous occupancy. With a boiler water temp set point of 25deg, (as it was when we arrived), even 20deg ambient temperatures will most likely never be achieved ? - general cleanliness is very disappointing and the retention of opened, part-used food and personal hygiene products is unnerving ... left a list of more than 20 specific concerns relating to cleanliness / poor maintenance ... including a recommendation that the kitchen undergoes a 'deep clean' as soon possible. We returned home and discovered a recent on-line review by a previous guest, (6 days earlier), which included same cleanliness concerns in their review ... Host has replied, indicating their surprise as so many reviews have been 5 star ... that this poor review is a one-off .... seems to imply that because the property includes a FOC hot-tub then issues associated with cleanliness, etc are somehow compensated / balanced out. There are other reviews on other web-sites that reference specific 'cleanliness' concerns ... and it's true that these are in the minority but we do not accept the validity of the perception ... that the net V-F-M is good ...

Clean, cozy cottage - that’s well worth a visit and that we will definitely return to!

We booked a spontaneous overnight stay at the Lazy Cottage. It was a last minute trip, two days after getting married, in an attempt to prolong our wedding bubble 😍 . It was definitely well worth it. Beautiful cottage, with lots of practical clear instructions (clearly an organised owner). The hot tub was the obvious highlight - all good to go, with footwear and robes/towels ready to use. It was private and clearly well looked after. We will certainly book again with our kids, they'd love it just as much! The owner even called after our stay to help return an item we had left there!

Wonderful cottage with hot tub in a great location

Hot tub was amazing. Pre warmed for us and in a lovely spot under the tree in the garden. Garden was lovely with lots of seating. Front room is beautiful and spacious with a great dining table for eating together and lovely cosy decor. Beds were very comfortable. Location is a short walk into barrowford...ten mins...lots of restaurants and pubs/cafes. All in all had an amazing stay and would recommend.

The cottage was amazing. Bed and sofa were very comfortable. Its so peaceful. The garden is lovely. Having the Hottub was nice. Cottage decorated really cool. Such good value for money. Lovely night away. Nothing negative. Apologies for forgetting to write in the guest book.

A cosy getaway and art gallery in one!

Very well presented property with large garden and all mod cons. This amazing property is spacious and filled with interesting art and very well chosen furniture that makes it a pleasure to spend time in. Last minute booking for us and exceeded our expectations. Everything you could need is provided whether you want to chill with a book or blob in front of the TV, cook a gourmet delight or order a takeaway (Taste of India very good). A true home from home which the owners are obviously and rightly proud of.

Not a True representation!

The cottage was moderately clean but would benefit from a deep clean. The hot tub was hot, clean, and easily accessible. (Would benefit from a large parasol over it tho) The cottage had the basics. It was nice and quiet as we arrived late Friday afternoon so all workmen had gone home. The kitchen is big with good facilities. The heating is very good, and u only need it on for a few minutes. We only used the big bedroom and the bed was comfy with adequate bedding etc.

The photos do not show a true representation of this cottage. It has very outdated furniture and decor. It is overlooked by a building site that is an arm's length away, so not secluded as advertised. The gardens are moderately kept with a square proportion to the rear, just being overgrown. The BBQ was very small and was left on the side for grass to overgrow on it. The shower is tiny and makes it very difficult to wash but it was nice and hot.

it was absolutely lovely! The hot tub and garden was so beautiful, the lights were a lovely touch. I am in love with the decoration throughout the house. We are booking again for the beginning of august, we will a 1000% be back.

the shower is a bit of a squeeze ( for reference I’m a chunky girl so.. ) the water pressure absolutely perfect. not a complaint There is a cute little cat next door that comes and says hello to you so if you have any allergies just be aware of that😀

The property is decorated very modern and cosy. It was so peaceful and private. Everything you can possibly need is there. The host has thought of every little detail. The hot tub is an added bonus and is huge. The setting is so lovely. Everything you would want from a peaceful break.

Perfect location and beautiful scenery, with the cottage itself being an absolute beauty, loved the old house feel with the wooden beams. Beds VERY comfortable, house temperature is easily controlled and not an issue and the outdoor area is very sufficent for a small group (4 - 5) so perfect.

A little gem. We had a nice relaxing time. Lovely property in a nice spot. It’s not secluded but feels like it is. We climbed Pendle hill and walked the witches trails, so the hot tub was a very welcoming evening self care. Will definitely come again.

What a beautiful spacious cottage. Shayne was super helpful. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Great instruction book with useful places to eat etc. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus and a great way to relax after working.. Highly recommend.

Relaxing rural cosy stay

The cottage is lovely and secluded. It has everything we needed and more, salt, pepper, tinfoil, airfryer, shampoo, board games. A real home from home. It was very comfy, clean and cosy in a good rural location near lots of country walks and takeaways and pubs. The hot tub was warm and we loved bubbling away. Parking space outside.

The shower is a bit on the small side. The blinds don’t block out the sunlight.

Amazing weekend away!

Beautiful cottage, an absolute hidden gem!! The hot tub was my favourite part of our stay. Location was great, fully equipped kitchen, everything we could have needed for our stay was available to us. I can't wait to book again, thank you for a fantastic break away!

Plenty of room in the property, views where very good, master bed was very comfortable and hot tub was a big plus. We enjoyed the visits from the very friendly local cats.

The only downside for us was that the fridge was not clean and the passive/aggressive nature of the hot tub instructions. A little lighting for the hot tub area would be a great addition.
