Very cozy with lovely decor . Two bedrooms and two bathrooms brilliant: Felt like a home not holiday accommodation. So clean on arrival. Off road private parking .

Great property for a short dog friendly get away!

Great place, great location. Really has everything you need for a short getaway and more. I saw reviews complaining about the parking spot being too small, and it's absolutely fine (VW T Cross for car size reference). Plenty of parking on the street out front if you're not confident parking. Kitchen had everything you could think of. Nice quiet location for a good nights sleep.

Enjoyed the cottage and Barnard Castle

Cottage was beautiful inside ,decor modern,loads of space to move about Bathrooms done to a high standard can't fault anything in this cottage Easy walk into Barnard Castle and all items amenities great locations

The entrance to to house is via a ginnel between the shops on the main street,people should be warned it's very tight and no turn around spaces .I had a small car and I struggled be aware any one with a large car it would be really tight near impossible to get up and down I would recommend parking on the road

Convenient for the town and comfortable place to stay

It was well located for the places we were visiting and for looking around Barnard Castle. Very tidy and smartly decorated.

Finding the property and parking were a little tricky but due to the fact that we were travelling all day we did not get to read the arrival instructions until we were in the property, it would have been useful to have had something a little earlier. I had concerns about the front door locking mechanism and could have used an instruction manual for the cooker. One of the two bedrooms had high windows with no curtains or blinds which meant it was quite light in the early hours.

Avoid this property at all costs

The facilities were modern and the decor was ok

The WiFi was too weak to load a web page on my phone or stream TV. The Tv doesn’t have an aerial so we couldn’t use the tv at all (the WiFi extension is shared with another property). One bedroom’s blind was broken off, detached and left on the floor. The skylight blinds were out of reach and open; light came in at 5.30am to wake us up. The bedroom doors didn’t close properly from the inside. The mattresses were too soft. The toilet roll holder was loose, hanging off the wall. The floor in the bathroom was uneven and chipped. Calls, texts and emails to get help things rectified were painful… the host couldn’t answer a straight question, preferring to tell me complaints will be dealt with in 7-10 days. Bedrooms are tiny with no room for a wardrobe. Tv aerial socket in the wall had no connection to the TV. A flimsy indoor aerial in the window didn’t work at all.

We had no hot water for most of the week . I had brought my elderly parents and a downstairs toilet would have been good .

Comfortable stay

The location is perfect for us, a quiet mews, and comfortable stay.

The boiler was broken on arrival and the used bed linen had been left in a bag on the stairs. The boiler was fixed within 24 hours, but we spent one very cold night with no heating or hot water. Although the problem was efficiently, we had to negotitiate compensation, which really should have been automatic.

82f Galgate Barnard Castle

A good sized property in a quiet location ideally placed for access in Barnard castle. It was well equipped in the kitchen with everything that we required and had plenty of furniture in the lounge area. The bedrooms were a good size with both being ensuite. Being very cold overnight the heating system was easy to control to keep a comfortable temperature.

The shower in the ensuite was a bit temperamental with the water temperature being on the cold side even when the control was turned to maximum hot. The television was a good size but had no live TV channels to watch news or current programmes.

Lovely apartment, ideally located and every amenity catered for. Parking in the alley was a bit tight but we managed to park in the street without any problems. Nice little deli at the end of the road for breakfast too. Would stay again.

The location was great, very peaceful and centrally located. The house was comfortable and clean, with ample sofa rooms.

The bedrooms have skylights with no blinds, which make summer sleeping difficult. They really should install black out blinds, as the main windows give ample light. Also, the upper windows had spider's webs - they should be cleaned away. The kitchen had no cupboard space for food, and not having a washing machine could be an issue for families staying more than a few nights.

Very very disappointed with the service and the quality of accommodation

The property was fairly well located and close to the High Street and Morrison’s

initially there was a lot of confusion about the damage waiver being paid or not. I had paid it and I had even submitted the payment receipt to host in stay but when I called them one hour before my arrival, they said I don’t have access to the property because I haven’t paid the damage waiver. Complete miscommunication and breaking down of communication at their end. This caused me a lot of stress. The second problem with the property was that if you have a big car like I do you cannot take the car in to where the main door is which means you have to carry luggage and other things like Morrisons shopping all the way in which is quite a distance and not conducive specially if you have elderly parents with you, which I did. Third issue I thought was very important and relevant, that there is no toilet on the main level . Both our ensuite, so if you are chilling in the living room and you have, especially older guests like I did they have to go up to the ensuite in order to use facilities. This is not mentioned in the description and if it was I would have never chosen this property. There was a spotlight flickering in the kitchen on top of the fridge area and it was not a very pleasant feeling. They have a window in the roof and dad does not have any kind of blind so when you are sleeping and it’s sunrise at 4:30 am I was advised that you take a sleeping mask or you will be wide-awake. also a basic thing like a fairy liquid and a sponge was not available for us to wash dishes. There were literally two drops of fairy liquid.

Nice area, but things need improvement.

Parking access, sometimes block by others. Metal chairs at dining table, cold and very uncomfortable. Heating only came on at 2am, cold during the day and evening. Tv unable to get channels. All films netflix etc. Could see no news or weather updates.

Great location, nice and roomy, everything you need for a stay, plenty of clean towels, even had tea and coffee on arrival, Beds nice and comfy, Kitchen well equiped . Very private just at the back of main street.

Seating, in sitting room not the best seating arrangement, also could do with a pair of oven gloves, Parking is off road but very tight, just make sure you pick the correct bay, as shop owners on main street are not impressed if you park, not in the allocated space.. Tv did take a while to suss out, (could be cause we are older)

We enjoyed a lovely Family wedding at Runa Farm and the property was suitable for the short stay.

The location as excellent - we walked into the town for some lunch. The snow made travelling difficult and our car was stuck at the property in the snow on friday.

The shower in our room was luke warm. we tried many different settings but couldn't get a hot shower. There was veery little space in the rooms. We have wedding clothes and other clothes with little space.

ok, nice property perfectly located but had much better for the money locally

fantastic location and very warm.

living area is poorly furnished for actual use. looks good but not at all comfortable. showers in both bedrooms are freezing, too far away from the boiler with not enough bar pressure to feed to rainfall shower heads. top tip - use the smaller shower head, at least that lets the hot water through.
