This lodge has great potential, but has seen better days. It is time for a thorough cleaning.

This was a nice lodge with a convenient location and good layout. The room was excellent in providing a refrigerator, microwave and television with cable and internet. The sheets were clean, the bed well made. There were ample towels. If you like glamping, you will have no problem with this place.

The room rug was moldy and filthy. It needs to be ripped up and replaced. The housekeeper obviously has no idea how to use a vacuum cleaner attachment as there was layered dust in all corners and in between furniture, even a bonus toothpick! There was dust on the baseboards, mid boards and bed frame. There is mold everywhere as it is in the middle of a rainforest and not cleaned thoroughly. The gardens are unkempt.

Great location and clean but tphard to sleep due yo lights. Need better window treatments.

Very clean, bed comfortable, good shower

Couldn’t sleep due to outside lights , curtains very flimsy and no shades. Called and staff had no solution. We put up a sheet over the curtain rod on second night and that helped.

Just needed a place for the night its all good

Be much better with sealing fan above the bed, bigger shower head for that nice big shower stall. Get rid of the bord around the bed base thats a toe stuber.

Quiet and convenient

Comfortable, quiet, each house has an exterior corridor, the location is very close to the Volcano Park, the check-in process is convenient, and the staff are very considerate.

Clean, Basic, Responsive

The room was simple, but clean and adequately provided, with a coffee maker, a microwave? and extra pillows. Staff also responded very quickly to my queries over text.

This is a great location if you have a car, and within a 10 min walk from the bus stop down the road. I was a little puzzled why drinking water wasn't provided despite the generous provision of coffee packs. While you can indeed purchase water from the Volcano Store down the road, it would have been more helpful to include this somewhere in the information provided, rather than having to find this out only on further asking. I wasn't too sure how to operate the coffee machine in the room, so a kettle in the room might also be more broadly useful, so one might perhaps boil the tap water, either for water, to make tea, or even cup noodles.

Great location for the volcano area

Right next to the volcano area which allowed us to go watch during the night and early in the morning (we were following the live cameras and we saw some lava coming out, in 5 minutes by car we were at the observation point). Furniture is a bit old, but I liked the vintage style. It was clean. A very small “kitchen” area with microwave, coffee machine and a couple of plates. Enough to warm some dish and make a few sandwiches. We didn’t meet the hosts but there were amenities available in the lobby in case we needed more.

Beautiful location and a serene property

It's like sleeping in the jungle, the stars that can be seen from the property, the birds and the proximity to the national park really make it wonderful. The staff was also very communicative and understanding!

The bed was a little uncomfortable but other than that it was really great, I still managed to get a good amount of sleep!

Good base for visiting Volcanoes National Park

The room was clean and comfortable, after opening the windows. Location is great for visiting Volcanoes National Park. There's no staff on-site but we were left with very clear instructions to check-in and out and we had access to the reception area if we needed extra shampoo, soap, etc.

The room gets very hot if you don't open the windows. The dehumidifier was pumping out hot air so we had to turn that off to let the room cool down. There were always a few ants crawling around the sink, but that wasnt a huge deal and not unusual, I suppose, in a rural tropical setting. There also aren't many restaurant options in the vicinity.

Great place for the price. So close to the volcano park

The host let us check in early. For the price, it was a nice room. Location very nice. However there was a lot of random stuff in the yard that had apparently been there a very long time that could just be picked up and thrown away. That would make the backyard more pleasant.

Fantastic place to stay!

The location was perfect if you plan on visiting the volcano park, plus it is a short drive to Hilo. There is a great breakfast spot down the road behind the convenience store. Room had everything needed for a comfortable stay and the surroundings truly made you feel like you are in a jungle. Absolutely loved hearing the birds and frogs!

Highly recommend if you're visiting Volcano National Park

Perfect location for visiting Volcano National Park. You are literally minutes away from the park entrance so getting there early before the rush is easy. The wraparound porch was very tranquil and we thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here. Also, if you're looking for a quick but tasty meal, the 10 Pin inside the park was excellent and their staff is great. If we came to this area again, we would definitely book at Lokahi Lodge.

Pleasant spot to stay while visiting Volcanoes National Park

Location is close to Volcanoes National Park & easy to find. Lots of parking. Beautiful grounds. The room was well equipped, functional, and clean. There are extra guest supplies like soap and toilet paper in the lobby.

The walls are thin, so we could hear other guests talking, stomping their feet, and bonking into things. This is not entirely within the property’s control, but it was a little frustrating that they put guests in rooms right next to each other because the lodge was only half full at the time of our stay. They could have assigned guests to rooms at least one room apart and this would have mitigated the noise issue.

Great place really close to the Volcano

- The location is perfect if you want to visit the volcano national park. We spent 5 days there and explored a lot of trails. - The place is relaxing - Easy check-in and nice bedroom

Very convenient to Volcanoes National Park. Good correspondence for self check in. Nice to have small table, chairs, microwave and mini fridge for our late night snacking. Appreciated the dehumidifier!

There was mold in the bathroom. Thick dust behind the bed, bedside tables and lamps. Time for a deep clean.

Delightful Stay

It was hidden away in a quiet location but close to cafes where had a pleasant meal. It was well located after spending the day in the National park

Loved it!!!!!

Absolutely loved it here! Great location for visiting the national park and it was super cool to listen to the rainforest sounds at night outside the property. Very clean, great shower and useful to have the mini kitchen with fridge and microwave. Staff were very responsive and helpful regards check in as we were a last minute booking. Highly recommend! Great value as well.

Ok place to stay very close to big Island Volcano

Old fashioned inn in great location near the volcano park. Room was adequate. Bed was adequate.

Flimsy door with turn lock didn’t feel safe. Carpet needed vacuuming. No cor conditioning or fan provided for stuffy room.

Good location, lacked Aloha

The location of the property is in a great location for a visit to Volcano National Park. Room was clean and had a private bathroom.

I didn’t realize it lacked an on-site host or staff. There are other properties within the area that have staff and breakfast as part of the stay that cost just a bit more a night and I wish I picked one of those inns. It would have been nicer to have a fan versus dehumidifier. All it did was contribute to a dry, stuffy room. Which is extra stuffy at night due to having to close the windows because of frog and cereal cat noises.

Superb

The location was perfect, 5 min from the volcano entrance. The rooms were spacious. Easy checkin and checkout that was contactless. Coffee was provided and good. Also shampoo and conditioner was provided. The dehumidifier and heater in the room were really nice to have.

Great location for volcano hunting!

Bed was comfy, facilties were good. This is an un- staffed lodge, but self check in was easy. Nice ecofriendly vibe going on. Really enjoyed our stay.
