We stayed here because parking in Harpers Ferry is extremely limited, so being able to walk into town and onto the Appalachian Trail are key.
We knew we didn't need a whole house. We just needed 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, but we chose the house because we wanted to be sure we had a parking space in Harpers Ferry. I contacted the host, and I politely asked if he could offer us a lower rate, since we wouldn't be using the kitchen, the living room, both bedrooms and both baths. He politely said, that he couldn't adjust the rate because Harpers Ferry is very popular and the rate was the "lowest possible rate available." Fine. We were okay with that. But what I didn't like was that he messaged me before our stay and said that the night before was available, and he would give us a "reduced rate." That didn't work with our schedule, so we didn't take him up on it. Then, the day before we left, he sent me another text saying that the next night is available, and if we wanted to extend our trip, he would give us a "reduced rate." That didn't work with our schedule, so we declined. My point is--please don't tell me it is the "lowest possible rate available" for a Monday night and a Tuesday night and then offer me a lower rate on the bookend nights just because you aren't full every night in the off season. That's not an honest way to conduct business.

It was really cold in the house, and it was hard to get comfortable. There was no hairdryer, and apparently there was no way to bring one to me so I had to let my hair dry in the cold.

Owner was very responsive.
No flat sheet on bed in twin room, no lamp on night stand in twin room, had to walk downstairs at night to use bathroom to avoid waking up person sleeping in bedroom on second floor, which has ensuite bathroom.
