Il Giardino di Galatea

Carmelo, our host was such a caring and thoughtful host. Nothing was too much trouble. He has created a wonderful place to stay. The room was extremely comfortable. Crucially, the large double bed was of superb quality. Last but not least, Carmelo’s breakfasts were easily the best we ate in Sicily. Acireale is a delightful small town. If you want a quiet and affordable base from which to explore the area around Catania, Taormina and Mount Etna, this is definitely the booking for you.

There was nothing to dislike!

Our host went out of his way to answer our questions about the area and share the wealth of information he has from his years working in tourism in Italy. His property is very beautiful and full of local touches like ceramics depicting myths relevant to the area.

Mein Gastgeber Camelo hat sich sehr fürsorglich um mich gekümmert. Ich konnte das Frühstück nach meinen Wünschen gestalten und habe sogar einige Früchte aus seinem Garten serviert bekommen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und das Grundstück lädt zum verweilen ein. Alles wurde mit Liebe zum Detail und viel Sorgfalt in Handarbeit zusammengestellt. Auch an Empfehlungen was man alles in der Gegend machen kann hat es nicht gefehlt. Da ich ohne Auto unterwegs war bin ich für den unkomplizierten Transfer zum Bahnhof sehr dankbar gewesen. Die Lage war etwa 10 min Fußweg vom beginnenden Zentrum entfernt. Was sehr angenehm war, da man dort deutlich mehr Ruhe hatte als in den Unterkünften im Zentrumsbereich. In Acireale konnte ich jeden Tag neue Dinge entdecken.

La struttura situata in un polmone verde di Acireale ma comunque a poca distanza dal centro, la camera arredata con gusto e dotata di tutti i comfort, la pulizia, il giardino ben curato, la gustosa collazione, la gentilezza e l'empatia del sig. Carmelo, che ci ha accolti come vecchi amici più che come ospiti premurandosi di rendere il nostro soggiorno più confortevole possibile. È la prima volta che incontriamo un proprietario così attento e cordiale.
