Utterly disappointing.

Position

Not able to access property when arriving at notified time…until help sought from taxi driver to phone.Room did not meet standard as advertised..air con did not work on arrival,cold water tap in bathroom didn’t work,and all taps needed replacing.Tiles cracked in bathroom,lampshade fell apart as it was taped together.Staff were not ready for us for advertised breakfast start of 7:00am every morning.Security poor when cleaning staff left full set of keys in door after cleaning.Noise from renovation made day stay in hotel impossible.

It was a lovely stay. I would recommend it to friends but if I was to stay there again I would ask for a different room

The location was perfect, close to the beach and restaurants but not on the Main Street. The staff were very polite and friendly, breakfast was superb. Rooms were clean and to a very good standard

The noise from ongoing construction but that couldn’t be helped. I would still stay there again as I was out of the property from morning Also I got the room next to reception which meant I could always hear guests and staff that were at reception and music from bar area. I think because I was solo. If I was to stay there again I would request one of the rooms upstairs if available. The balcony didn’t feel private as guests would pop their head around the divider onto my part

The perfect place to stay in Camps Bay!

This hotel ticked every box! It was in the perfect location , just a few mins walk to the beach and restaurant’s and we felt safe our entire stay. We had the most stunning view from our room and the staff were so helpful and kind. It is being renovated and we were shown one of the new rooms which was absolutely stunning, we want to come back! I cannot reccomend this place enough!

Beautiful boutique hotel in excellent Cape Town location

Breakfasts were superb! They had a lovely breakfast buffet but also a made to order breakfast that was excellent!

Great location. Spacious room. Beautiful view. Safe, even with the outside parking. Tasty breakfast.

They are currently doing renovations at the property & did not disclose this to us prior to our booking, the place was filled with dust & noise throughout the day from morning to late afternoon. You can’t stay at leisure at the hotel enjoying the facilities due to the ongoing work. If we knew that they were doing construction we would have booked else where. That evening,On arrival When I spoke to the guy at reception he was very rude in his manner of response aswell. It set a sour tone for our 3 day stay at the hotel.

The room was nice a big for a couple, we had a great view of the once and sunset. The aircon was amazing, making the room nice and cold in the evenings.

The floors were dirty at times, and they were busy with construction during our stay.

Very disappointing and poor value

The location was wonderful

The ongoing building works Our friends room had a shower which didn’t work they had to use our room. The water coming out of the taps was like mud!! The staff weren’t trained properly We asked to speak to the manager and was told he was coming to see us but he never did. The rooms were very tired and dated

The room initially allocated very poor, broken patio door, sour milk in fridge, dirty room, unsafe wiring. We complained & the next day we were given a room with a fabulous view. Building work on upgrading rooms causes noise & dust

great location, very good breakfast, friendly staff who clearly care about delivering good service. the interior of the communal areas is very attractive and there’s a small but lovely pool on the terrace.

building / refurb work ongoing while we were there and i think we were put in an old room right next to where renovations were being carried out. that aid it was a very last minute booking as we booked on the morning of arrival so i’m sure we got the last available room.

Excellent location in camps bay

Excellent location. Large room with seating area, kitchenette and beautiful balcony with views perfect for watching the sunset. We knew about the construction work beforehand and it didn’t bother us (we are early risers anyway). We felt very safe and the breakfasts were good.

Some of the fittings were slightly dated but overall excellent value for money considering location and room size.

Certain parts of the room seemed a little run down, for example the bathroom had a shower that only dribbled out + everything seemed quite old and worn out. Works were underway in the building so hopefully this gets improved.

Really Disappointed - noise all day - tired room

The lounge area is nicely furnished and comfortable The breakfast was good.

Heavy construction work going on in the hotel. Drilling through concrete in the room next door all day. The room was very tired, bare wires coming out of the wall on the terrace (where there used to be a wall light). Room wasn’t particularly clean. Only one subbed next to the pool. Pool didn’t look clean.

A fantastic stay in a beautiful location.

I had a fabulous stay! The hotel is in such a great location and the staff was truly wonderful! I had a massive room with a wrap around terrace and breathtaking views. I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing is the property/rooms are a little old but I understand they are going to through a renovation.

I booked three large rooms for very important guests. When I checked in, I told the staff how important these guests were to me. But instead, they gave one couple a small, cheap room. The building was undergoing renovations, and there was a sign saying they would start at 10:30. But every morning I woke up at 7 a.m. from the noise. Breakfasts are very long. If several people come at the same time, you have to wait for your food for almost an hour.

Hotel with the potential to be excellent

Fantastic location, delicious breakfast with warm, efficient staff. The breakfast room/lounge is beautiful with unbearable views.

The hotel is being refurbished, our room hadn't been refurbished so there was some early morning noise from builders due to the location, there was also an issue with servicing the room and availability of a table for breakfast. The lack of a weekend manager meant nothing could be done until Monday. The hotel would benefit from weekend staff able to make decisions independently. We were offered a different, refurbished room for our final night. This was a super deluxe room, it was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous balcony.

Smashing hotel with great staff but management need to step up to the mark when things go wrong.

It was a great location. The breakfast was exceptional. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Camps Bay is a nice area and the beachfront with all the restaurants was 3 mins walk away. The style of the hotel is really nice. Very South Beach Miami Pastel colours. Nice boutique touches all around. Cosy bar area with squishy sofas. Pretty terraced balcony. Looks out over the nearby beach ( one road away ). When the renovation is finished I think it will be great. But …………

There was renovation work being carried out. It was noisy. We mentioned it to the Management team and really thought that we were due a partial rebate/refund. The noise started at 8am in the room right next door to ours. It was very loud and unacceptable but though our concerns were recognised and they said future guests wouldn’t be affected , nothing was done during our visit to give some service recovery. So much about the Royal Boutique was really really good and I would be happy to give it a much higher rating if Management had offered us a small something to make up for the noise during our stay.

Magnificent, peaceful, wonderful staff.

The property is well situated, and has magnificent views. The staff are helpful and kind, and will go out of their way to assist you. The breakfast was wonderful. The beds were comfortable.

There was some construction happening, but the hotel informs you of this on entry and they do everything they can to make sure that it doesn’t interfere with your stay. The construction also does not happen in resting hours, and we were not influenced by it at all.
