Spoiled trave experience

Le Portel's beach, about 5 minutes of walk, is very nice in spite of the place itself (both Boulogne and its suburb) are industrial and ugly.

Be very careful before booking this property. The landlord tries to cheat before and during the stay, by charging amounts twice for services expressly included in the initial reservation (cleaning, local taxes). During my stay I eventually received another invoice and my credit card was charged by Booking without authorisation! This was the worst travel experience I had in past 20 years, and only made possible by weak procedures at Booking.com that allow owners such phony behaviour and give them access to your credit card.
