Location was very good for dog walking and proximity to dog friendly restaurants especially the Creebridge House Hotel next door.
There was everything needed for our stay and nice touches such us welcome basket and dog toys. Property was also very clean.
The large enclosed garden was ideal for our dog.
The property was a bit tired looking with the laminate flooring chipped in most rooms. Also not much storage for clothing - only one chest of drawers and no wardrobes.
This could be a lovely property with a bit of attention .

It was spacious, an old property brought into 21st century as best as they could. Plenty of thought given to any dogs that might stay.
There was a strong doggy odour. ( The previous people had 5 dogs staying with them)
Perhaps the number of dogs could be lowered.

Property was chosen based on location and met our basic needs.
Property states it is modernised but this cannot be recent. Sofa bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in and the smell of dog in the property was overwhelming.

I enjoyed how comfy the beds and the fact there was a park right next door for my children to play jin in the mornings

Location. Comfortable beds.
Supposed to sleep 6 but must have missed that one room was double bed and pull out bed. There was barely enough room to pull it out and when out person on one side of double bed had to climb over pull out to get to toilet. Nowhere to hand any clothes . Only 4 sets of towels for 5 people. Minimal extras e.g tiny amount of washing up liquid, only enough tea bags for 1 cup of tea, 1/4 carton of milk for 5 people again only for one cuppa. Tumble dryer huge fire risk due to amount of fluff build up. Fan heaters fixed above doors but did not heat house .

A good base for local sights.
The TV accessibility.
There was a bit of a doggy whiff. Some old washing was left in the washer. The flat TV at a right angle to the settee.

The cottage itself is lovely , really like a home away
from home . From the moment I booked this cottage
the owners have always stayed in touch and made
sure we had all of our questions answered !
The cottage provides all the facilities you need ,
when arriving you receive a small welcome basket
and a handwritten note ! i would say it is one of the
best places I have ever stayed at . The cleanliness
is at no fault.
will deffo be back !! Thankyou for a lovely stay

Great location to local shops and to explore the forests, around 15 minutes drive to the start of the entrances, we fed deers and goats in the forest and had really lovely walks.
The house was clean with good decor and smelt amazing! Right behind the house is a park which our daughter loved. We would recommend No 4 restaurant and the cree Inn both just round the corner both very nice food.
The only thing is i wish we had more time to stay as a 15 minute drive in the other direction is a town called Wigtown, famous for its book shops. Hopefully we ll come back and have a visit to it.

What a charming old gate lodge, perfectly located in a beautiful village in a lovely area of the Galloway Hills. Lots of attention to detail with welcome notes and treats on arrival. Easy to find with detailed instructions on how to find the property and how things worked. Very clean and tidy, great effort made to keep you warm with heaters and blankets (although not needed as weather was actually gorgeous!) and other games and records if its wet. And the TV options, wow, every TV series or film you can think of from every streaming platform going. What a find! Will definitely stay again.
