Could be so much nicer with basic maintenance

Beds were comfy, nice social living area.

Hot tub was cold, couldn’t connect to the WiFi, kettle was green inside, broken toilet seat, brown patch on living room ceiling, stain on bedroom carpet, grouting around bath awful, bin overflowing outside, stair carpet gone a bit scruffy, scuffs up the wall going up the stairs.

Not very clean. Blind in 2nd bedroom full of dust. Chewing gum on the back of the headboard of single bed. Very tired and could do with a fresh paint, rug and furnishings. Garden untidy. Garden furniture broken. Oven not very clean.

After messaging and calling, the only response we received was a text saying the property “isn’t available” and “needs cleaning.” This is completely unacceptable. We had two excited children, a boot full of BBQ food that could not be kept cold on a hot day, and we were there to celebrate a birthday that has now been ruined. This wasted our fuel, our time, and our money. We expect an immediate explanation, a full refund, and compensation for the inconvenience and losses caused by your failure to provide the booked accommodation without any prior notice.

Good location

Pleasent house in a quiet close with onsite parking. Comfortable space for 2 to 4 people for a short stay. Didn't use the hot tub, weather to hot !

There were no replacement batteries for the tv remote,thankfully, we had taken an ipad. No bath towels supplied. No corkscrew/ bottle opener. Only one cooking ring that was operational, oven, and grill don't work. The garden area would benefit from TLC, and the over hanging branches lopped off to open the garden to the sunshine and stop the branches hitting the rear bedroom windows. Overall, it's a nice little house. Sure, the owner is aware the house/ furnishings would appreciate some TLC .

Comfortable cottage that just needs a bit of attention

The beds we’re comfortable and the hot tub was lovely.

In general it was very grubby. I had to clean the shower head and grime around the bath so we could use it. The kitchen washing up brush was also dirty and the pans to cook with weren’t clean either. Generally just felt unloved and unclean. The grill door was loose and just fell open. Needed more equipment, an oven glove, bath towels, hand towels to name a few.

Nice cottage, owner was nice enough.. state of the property let the stay down.

Location was good.

In need of a good deep clean. Food along with potatoes growing in cupboards. Litter out the back, ripped bed sheet(which I was told I had worsened it., took the picture before getting into the bed as I was appalled by anyone putting on a bed sheet in that state) no bed sheet on a single bed just a quilt .. the other beds no made up. When I looked for a sheet I came across a soiled stained quilt. I was only on a 3 night break, I wasn’t going to spend my short stay complaining about things that were clearly wrong! Disappointed that I wasn’t getting what was advertised!

Needs a makeover & TLC

The location of the property was great, easy to drive to with free parking & was close to some lovely beaches. It has potential to be a great cottage, but it is not looked after.

Much like the recent reviews, mine is the same. Booked for 4 nights, but left after 3 (wouldn’t have stayed the 3rd night but couldn’t drive because I had had a drink) the ceiling was leaking in the living room, this was from the shower, there was a swimming pool of water on the table & on the floor. The leak is very close to the light, which is of course a safety hazard. When I messaged the host about this, he said he would come & check in the morning but it was being fixed the end of the next week (he didn’t come & check) & I also don’t think you should be renting out a property if you know you have a leak which is close to electric - this was the final straw for us & we couldn’t stay another night. In other reviews the host replies saying he has a ‘team of professional cleaners’ I don’t believe this. There was a bag of damp laundry left in the living room when we got there & all pans/cutlery we used had to be washed before using them because everything was dirty. There was stuff under the beds from previous guests too. A couple of hours before my arrival the host messaged to say that he has to maintain the hot tub every day, and as there is no back entrance he would have to come through the house - this should be stated before booking if a man is going to be letting himself into the property & walk through it every day that you’re staying, I couldn’t relax knowing he could turn up at anytime. It’s disappointing because the location is wonderful, and it has potential to be a great cottage. It’s just not looked after at all. The tv is not a smart tv as stated & just has basic channels. I hate to write negative reviews & all my reviews are usually so positive, but I do believe people should know what this place is like before booking, I wish I hadn’t ignored the bad reviews, because they’re all correct unfortunately.

Expensive and in need of a deep clean

Advertised for having a hot tub but no towels are provided, even for showering. As a family of 4 paying this much and arriving after a full day of traveling, was so disappointing. Heating kept defaulting to cold on the bottom floor. Radiators upstairs did not work. Frying pans still had food and fat stuck to them. Dishes, utensils, cups needed to be washed before they could be used. Oven tray sticky and had food left on it Owner took a long time to reply to tell us there were no towels and we could go down the road and buy some. Overall this house is very outdated, especially compared to other accommodation at a cheaper price. It needs a good deep clean and revamp to get it back to standard. The number of the flat was never provided so we needed to go out and look for a house similar to the booking.com photos til we found it. Rubbish from previous guest under the main bed There is an old laminated posted stating the fee of 20 pounds would be charged if rubbish is not put into the correct colored bags, however these bags were not provided. Recycling bins/tubs outside the house were overflowing.

Dirty

Great location. Being right by the road it was easy to get to lots of places, and there's shops and places to eat close by. The kids loved the hot tub.

The cottage needs a good clean - the host could probably do with hiring professionals. All cutlery and crockery we used had to be washed before we could use it - one look at the cheese still in the grater from a previous guest really put me off cooking there. It's quite disgusting. The rooms hadn't been cleaned - rubbish from previous guests was just left under the beds, and bits of rubbish were left in drawers. A bag of dirty laundry was left in the middle of the living room, another in the cupboard under the stairs, and the washing machine was full as well. No towels or bath mat provided - when I messaged the host I was told that guests kept stealing the towels so they're not provided anymore, but there were dirty towels in the laundry bags left and in the washing machine, so I think they've just been misplaced rather than stolen. The hot tub was nice but the garden was definitely not suitable for children. Wires, an old filter, and hot tub paraphernalia were just left randomly around the garden. Fence paint, a brush, and paint sprayer were left in the garden - surely the host should have moved these, knowing children were coming to stay. And there was even a used vape by the picnic table! I took loads of photos because I couldn't believe the state of the place. The cottage itself is lovely, it just needs someone to look after it and clean it. All-in-all, a very disappointing place.

Lovely town cottage, clean and cosy

This is a lovely little cottage within easy distance of so many beaches and attractions. The house is clean and exceptionally well equipped with everything that you need. The neighbourhood is quiet and there is a clearly marked parking space right by the front door. Good internet access and Alexa is on hand to play your favourite music! Happy to recommend this very comfortable little house to anyone wanting a short or longer stay in Haverfordwest. The hot tub was a real bonus; it was spotlessly clean and well maintained.

This property is exactly as described on the website and there were no unpleasant surprises. There is some road noise in the back garden but for a town house this did not in any way spoil our use of the lovely hot tub.

It was a wonderful stay would go again

I felt the property was very cosy, we had everything we needed, had no concerns enjoyed our time staying there, was nice being close to the shops and it was nice to be able to relax in the hot tub with the garden having privacy.

There wasn’t much we didn’t like everything was great only advice would be in the upstairs bathroom maybe put a shower curtain there due to water going on the floor from the shower.

Home from home

Location was amazing, had every thing around you .. beaches..shops and was a lovely home from home feel.

That we couldn't leave our dogs in the cottage - we chose this accommodation as on previous reviews it stated about a pub 5 minutes walk away and with the dogs this would of been ideal, on arrival there are a list of rules which states dogs are not permitted to be left alone, so we had to take the dogs every where with us especially as there were neighbours who were quite nosey pointing to the house when we were there, we could see them looking in and talking amongst themselves, two elderly neighbours as there are no blinds which did make me feel uneasy as if we weren't welcome, they only lived couple of doors down from the property. Maybe some blinds would prevent this going forward as it's a beautiful area all in all.

Do not waste your money here

So close to a really busy loud main road. Loud neighbours and kids screaming. Place was filthy. Facilities were terrible, oven door was held shut with a folded up napkin. Freezer was disgusting. Floors were sticky. Mould on the ceiling. We weren't even given the right key code to start with. Could write lots more! If you want a holiday don't come here, we left a day early!

We had a great stay here. The hot tub is a great addition to the property, everything was so comfortable, the parking was close to the house which was great and it felt very homely. Mark was a brilliant host and very understanding when we had a problem with the car on the way there. This cottage is very good value for money and has a very secure garden which was perfect for our dog. We’d definitely stay here again.

The accommodation felt worn down. Broken upstairs tap, broken oven door, chrome peeling off the kettle, broken door stop upstairs. It was all nice enough but felt like it needed a bit of attention to get it back to where it should be. The code on the door to get in was wrong so we had to wait outside to get in. Also, the children in the area like to play football on the street. Not good if you like your car.

Pleasant cottage

Location was good, good quality hot tub. Comfortable chairs in lounge. Beds were also comfortable. Wifi was a big bonus.

Not that clean( dust on skirting boards and empty lager cans in bathroom, cobwebs). Only one mirror( other one was broken in wardrobe). No hairdryer thought there should be one considering there's a hottub. Sink in kitchen was leaking. It rained our entire stay so could benefit from a canopy for the hottub

Relaxing family stay

Pretty little cottage, in quiet close but near to town, well equipped and a very responsive friendly host. Hot tub was amazing. A short drive away from a great choice of beautiful national trust beaches.

Bad

The house was filthy. Upon arrival on Friday evening our main priority was to eat and get the little one to bed. We put the hot tub on and it foamed excessively and had scum on the top and bird droppings on the rim so hadn't been cleaned very well if at all. The kitchen sponge had hair and food still attached so we had to get new to clean the sides and dishes before they were used. There was a large cobweb between the window and the sink tap which had a dead fly it and hadn't been cleaned for a while. Dust and cobwebs everywhere including floors and wall. The windows hadn't been cleaned for sometime either. The hot water wasn't hot so the bath for the little one was cold. As it was getting late and had no option to go anywhere else or want anyone distrubing sleep we just put up with it for 1 night and went home the next day. We were told the hot tub would be checked the next day so messaged the owner to confirm we were leaving and why, due to filth and the beds were like a rock. He was rude and unaccommodating. As we stayed one night apparently that means the house was acceptable to live in or stay longer..... This is not especially with young children. The noise from traffic even with windows shut was horrific and kept us up all night so we had no option with the noise and filth other than leave. Images show how bad it is. Mould round the bath, dirty disty skirting board and a pendant light that hangs lower than the door frame so heads get hurt. Never would I write such a bad review even if its true but the owner called me a liar and refused any refund as he felt it was clean.

Home Away from Home

Without realising it when we booked, this cottage is perfectly placed for easy access to the coast in all directions. Very conveniently situated and well appointed. A very comfortable stay with a very much home away from home feel. Lovely decor.

Everything was lovely and clean when we arrived, the best parts were the wine fridge and the hot tub.

The only thing we would say was missing was more cooking utensils, and could've benefited from having more toilet roll, as when we arrived we only had one roll for four days, other than that everything was great!

Peace and tranquility the property was spacious and fully kitted out with all a family or a couple would ever need placed in a lovely area with a marstons pub right opposite

There is only 1 thing that needs to be sorted and thats the urgent need to have a tree surgeon cut the over hanging tree branches back to the fence line so to open up the back yard to the sun as the hot tub and a lovely moderate back yard that's provided with plenty of seating for relaxing in the garden is screaming for the sun light it up but currently the over hanging trees in the back yard drastically restrict the sun shine
