Digital "unlock" was genius

This is the second time I've stayed at Casa Valerio and I've been very happy both times. The location is excellent -- walking distance to everything on State Street -- the rooms are beautiful, clean and well-stocked with thoughtful things in the kitchenette are and the bathrooms. Check-in is super easy and the property owners are very responsive to questions. I'll be back!

The building is very quaint and it was easy getting in using the door code. It honestly had everything we needed and more, fully stocked with extra toiletry supplies and kitchenette supplies as well. The TV was easy to use and the space was pretty clean which was appreciated. The location was also very convenient to downtown and other places we wanted to visit in the area.

For starters, yes the walls are very very thin and you're surrounded by other people. It wasn't super loud upstairs thankfully (we were on a ground level unit) but there were people next door trying to check in at like 11pm and just them talking was very loud and disruptive. The AC unit/heater was very noisy and sounded like it wasn't working very well. It just made this awful high pitched sound all night but we needed to have it on to keep the room cool. I think my biggest issue with this place was the bed. It was SO uncomfortable. When two people lay it in it literally formed a ditch and I woke up multiple times in the night with severe back pain. It was to the point where I wanted to leave early just to leave that bed. The pillows were also very uncomfortable. Honestly the worst sleep I've had in a while. Street parking is ok, but a little bit of a pain when carrying luggage 2 blocks away. I'd come back to give another go but very apprehensive just cause of the bed
