Paje Blu Boutique Hotel

Great facilities. The swimming pool was one of the best we had during our trip, however it can be very hot during the day (we were there in February). Staff was friendly and helpful. Special note to the manager who did an amazing job to make us feel comfortable.

Fantastic breakfast, great selection and table service by lovely staff. Location was good near the beach and the main road. Quite a lot of shade for sunbathing and a lovely pool.

We loved Paje Blu so much so we extended our stay AND came back a second time! Its quiet location is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Paje but still super easy to access should you want to go into town. The rooms are modern and comfortable with great AC which features back up when load shedding happens (NOT everywhere in Zanzibar offers this!) The pool area is honestly the lovely, well designed and plenty of beds. The pool is also open for swimming 24 hours! The bar is brilliant, great service and cocktails and the hotel staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. They can organise anything you need for a stay in Paje. Everything for breakfast is cooked to order which is another big plus for us!

My only slight criticism would be the evening meal we had was not the best and I think there are better places to eat in the area.

Very accommodating to last minute booking and late check out for an evening flight. Many lounge chairs for pool time. Very friendly staff.

Access to the beach was through a rough cut path surrounded by construction and always had a fake Maasai presence-whom harassed us daily. Guidance on how best to handle this situation, how to find boutique shops, and food recommendations would have been beneficial.
