Unforgettable Nights next to Ascott Sudirman -Min Stay 3 nights-

The property keys were easy to collect, and the owner supplies a comprehensive manual (how to run the Keurig, etc.). There is an exercise bike, but more importantly for me, the owner kindly supplied a mat so I could do my exercises. This apartment has become my pied a terre in Indonesia. Everything I need is there (and sometimes things I don't know that I need until I need them, like scissors to cut the zip ties round street food bags) All the usual things are more than fine: Place is very quiet, wifi good, hot water good, mattress and bedding good, enough plugs. The location also has excellent security; one day I came out in a rush and forget to turn the key in the lock, and when I returned, all my expensive equipment was still there!

Location is in the midst of several enormous condo towers. This brings safety, but also insulates from the life of Jakarta. Also, the on-site Family Mart is distinctly inferior (empty dairy case after 9pm, etc.).

This was my first time staying in Jakarta, and Unforgettable Nights was a wonderful introduction to the city and Indonesia. What really stood out for me was the commitment of the host to an excellent experience for his guests. This extends from the detailed manual in PDF to near-real time availability on WhatsApp (I asked, for example, for recommendations for Grab food, and the results did not disappoint). The host really seems to have put a lot of thought into anticipating the needs of his guests. For example: In Thailand, food vendors tie up plastic food bags with red rubber bands, which can be undone with a pull. In Jakarta, they use zip ties (!!) so I needed scissors. And there were the scissors, in the kitchen cupboard. My whole week-long experience was like that; I would think "I need ____" and it would already be there. All the usual amenities are fine: wifi, hot water, shower, bidet, aircon, comfortable bedding, water cooler, Keurig, quiet, safety, etc. I need a desk and a chair, and the height of the chair was adjustable, another anticipation of needs. On a personal note: I am one of the few people who loathe the feeling of air from aircon on their skin, and I hate to be cold. However, there was a fan (another anticipation), so I was able to get comfortable by opening the window, turning on the fan, and occasionally fiddling with the aircon (set at 30°C) when I needed. P.S. As for as the muezzins, I did keep the window open, and the sound is quite faint; it blends into the rest of the city. The police tweeting their whistles at the intersections far below my 19th floor were much more prominent.

If you want a hotel whose lobby opens directly onto urban chaos -- I'm thinking Bangkok, here -- this is not the place for you. It's a gated enclosure of condo towers. The city proper is too far for an old codger with a bad back like me to walk, but everything is easily accessible by cab (Grab or Bluebird). Also, this is not the property's fault, but the on-site Family Mart is greatly inferior to Thai 7-Eleven, both in the variety of products and in the service. Of course, Thai 7-Eleven sets the highest possible bar for a retail experience.

Perfect location, plenty of facilities, easy key pick-up and a beautiful view of jakarta !

Only one negative thing I have to say is that the wallpaper was peeling off. Besides this, the stay was really perfect and the host was beyond attentitive ! Makasih :)

The room is very comfortable, a drinkable water dispenser is available. AC works well. The caretaker is available most of the time by WhatsApp. Check in and check out are very easy. Several storage spaces.

When taking a shower it's easy to wet the floor, a longer curtain would be great. The microwave oven is not easy to use. That's it 😊
