The hotel itself is fine - nothing to complain about:
GOOD: the room is clean, the bathroom large, the shower excellent, the breakfast complete, right on the water, only about 50 meters from the village walking area, lots of restaurants nearby, free parking.
BAD: this was a big one for me - you know why that couple in the photo is standing? Because they have no sunbed to sit on. The beach is not private as advertised, and the sunbeds are not reserved for guests of the hotel but rather incredibly rented out on a first come basis - even to those not staying at the hotel. So after a long drive, hot and bothered and having booked this hotel ONLY because of being able to snooze and just roll into the water, the disappointment was immense when told that no, unfortunately there are no sunbeds available, and if they do the cost is 25 Euros per day for 2 sunbeds (oh, there is a free bottle of water which saves 1.50 Euros), otherwise go to another beach or hotel. If this information had been on their website or disclosed here or on booking.com then I would have been able to live with it , but there is none.
So
- if you are here for a week, it is a great little hotel - but BOOK YOUR SUNBED IN ADVANCE at 25 Euros per day (or next door for 15 Euros per day)
- if you are from Athens - as I am - then *** for a slightly smallish room with no sunbed - nah, there are less costly options which will achieve the same result - a mountain hotel with a large pool only for the hotel guests and a short nip down to ANY beach in Lefkada for half the price.
