As soon as I made the reservation, I asked if the room would be warm, but I didn't get a reply. I didn't expect it to be. But I didn't think the heating system would be broken. As people who aren't used to the cold, our first night was freezing and nightmarish. For the second night, they gave us an incredibly noisy but warm heater. It saved the situation a little. Still, I would never stay at a hotel that neglects something so basic and important.

Frequent door slamming noise made sleeping in my room impossible between 6:30 and 7:30.

It’s a good and affordable place to sleep during a trip.

The hotel is very close to the train station and not too far away from the centre of Rotterdam. There were many places around to eat and grocery store 5 mins away. The decor was super cool! Overall, very good for the price.

We didn’t expect the room to be that tiny, but it was fine for the few days we stayed. We also didn’t realise the window didn’t lead to the outside.. which made the room feel a little like a prison. Even during the day we had to have the curtain pulled, since anyone who walked by in the hallway could see inside.. There was also an instance where the cleaning staff almost burst in at a not very comfortable time😭

Bed bugs in the room 😞

The hotel is located near the train station

There were tons of bed bugs in the room. Tons. It was absolutely infested. During the day we didn’t notice them, but at night — they were everywhere. They were crawling in the carpet (which also covered the walls, stairs, and floor), so it’s very hard to believe this hadn’t been noticed before. The infestation was massive — bugs of all sizes, in huge numbers. We’re grateful to the staff for moving us to a better room on a different floor free of charge. However, it felt like they were already aware of the situation. With this level of infestation, it's almost impossible not to be. In the new room we didn’t see any bugs, but unfortunately, they had already crawled into our belongings. We had to unpack and go through every single item multiple times — it took us half the night. We didn’t get any sleep. Now we’re still checking our things every day, afraid of bringing them home. It was a very stressful and exhausting experience.

We love everything here room facility decoration location and very friendly staff. Big room big bed with aircondition. Big common space we can sit relax waiting for our departure bus. (It’s rain and cold outside)

Nice stay at the Hotel not Hotel

Location is very good - hidden behind the side of Central Station. Room was super small. It just fitted the bed and you could crawl out and into the shower. I would advise getting a room bigger than the small room. Staff were fantastically helpful. Hotel was trendy. Bar was open late at night. Great for a drink. Nice shower.

Would have loved some bannisters going up the stairs. Should have booked a bigger room. I found it difficult to organise my day without a decent table.

good stay

very central place, you're almost directly at the train station and it's still quiet. there's some rooms with no windows or where people are looking directly in your room, but for the red bookcase room it was good, very private. The decoration is funny. the staff is very nice. they serve some coffee / tea outside the rooms in the morning.

Bedbugs

They have bedbugs, i saw one on the bed and from then i was alert. I saw 5 and killed 3,they are very fast, so god knows how many bugs they have but by not sleeping, they ruined my trip with my kid in Rotterdam, no zoo for us on our holiday. Worst part, they ware not even available at the front desk to rapport it. Very bad experience, plus i saw 2 hair and it wasn't ours.

Amazing, themed accommodation in Rotterdam

The themed exterior of every room. I was joking at first that I look like on a "Squid Game" room but for every theme in there, there is a corresponding description and artist. Room's basic (no TV -- you won't need it as better to just chill and enjoy the fun exterior of the room and there is a hot shower, also tea you can get in the outside lounge

It can get too cold in the room but give it time to adjust -- the comfortable bed and warm duvet saves it!

A wonderful, whimsical stay!

The location is excellent, just 5 minutes' walk from Rotterdam Centraal. From here you can get everywhere in Rotterdam. The design brought an immediate smile to my face. The room was fine - small as is typical Dutch, with steep stairs to get to it which is also typical Dutch, and it was spotless.

Although coffee is free, there isn't anything to go with it. Something simple like a croissant would be nice. The hotel sells a full breakfast for $15, but that is bigger than I like in the morning.

What a special place! I would come to Rotterdam again just to check out a different room. Great attentive staff round the clock. They delivered a personal touch even though I was just dropping in for one night.

lovely stay, i think everything was good, it exceed our expectations.

amazing stay!! staff was friendly and helpful. we loved our room and enjoyed the free tea in mornings. room had all the facilities and if asked, they provide you with hair dryer, etc. the hotel's restaurant had great food as well. plus it was close to the central station which is a huge bonus when travelling. it was at a walking distance from attractions which was nice. it wasn't noisy despite the amount of guests staying in the hotel.

The room was clean snd furnished, but way too small for me. Very youth-hostel-like. No opening window, only Airconditioning. If you say there‘s tea for the guests, make sure there are cups, tea bags and water there at once, nut just one or two items.

A different style of hotel that's' welcoming and close to city centre. Glad I chose it.

The hotel has a sort of fairyland or fantasy set up with interesting places to relax. The website explains their approach. The rooms are comfortable, colourful, but a bit plain. Nice touch of a greetings message. It's in a side street behind the MiniWorld exhibition a short walk from Centraal station. I didn't pre-book breakfast but had two. Continental style and very good value.

I prefer to have coffee making facilities in my room.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake on the day of the reservation, I booked for a day later than I was supposed to, what I liked was that the employee was flexible and managed to change the reservation.

I didn't like the factor that the employee when I changed the reservation, did not warn me that about the value was going to be different, so only at the time of check out i discover about the change in the values

HUGE THUMBS UP - WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN

There are many nice things to remember - the staff was friendly and helpful - esp. when I couldn't open my room by myself. I also loved the 'invisible butler' sheet at the reception - very creative :) I booked a room in the 'Secret Bookcase' section of the hotel and really loved it! Loved it so much that I even took a polaroid picture of me with the bookcase behind the day of the check-out. I also appreciated the handwritten welcome postard waiting for me on the table - small things matter, you know! Can't help but mention the climate and the lighting control system - very handy! The interior of the hotel is just mindblowing. I think a took a photo of just about every corner on my floor. ;)

Around the time of my stay there were contstruction works going on nearby which made it a bit difficult to navigate the hotel. The view from my room could have been better, too. But the location couldn't have been better - just a 5 minutes' walk from the central station. So we'll definitely let it slide :)
