Spectacular Period Property Located In Leicester

Big house, big bedrooms, lots of nice big communal spaces. Well equipped kitchen.

It is a bit shabby, but we didn’t care

I threw a book launch party with multiple people and Rikesh took so much time to make sure I was okay despite being busy. Calling and asking how the party was going. Truly the best host I’ve ever worked with. Everyone loved the house, it really is set up lovely. I’d love to book again. Location was perfect with plenty of shops near by and food places. 10/10 night! Happy I chose this. Thank you again.

The rooms could be more modern but not a big issue.

Lots of space inside property

Wasn’t cleaned properly, very dated inside. Issue with heating. Owner brought some small heaters to us. Outside (gardens) untidy and very overgrown. Very expensive for what you get.

Huge spacious house, really kind and accommodating host, great value for money - good luck finding anywhere in the country that sleeps this many people for that price

There was nothing that was to like about this property. It was nothing like the images on Booking.com If i could give it no star that would be my choice. There were bags of dirty laundry greeting us in the hallway. No towels left out for us to use after a very long and hot journey. We booked this house for a lovely break with family the day before my son's wedding, to have a gathering with family in lovely surroundings. I am appalled that this was the experience we got for our two day stay costing us £1100.

The house was not spectacular, it was very scruffy, the garden was like a jungle, weeds, broken furniture, unkept, nothing like the photos. We expected a spectacular period property and of course with that you expect certain limitations like maybe only one powerpoint in a room but then to find some bare dangling out of a wall was unacceptable and that was only the start.

We had a great family get together for 14 adults and 2 dogs. The 7 bedrooms accommodated us well. The lounge, kitchen and dinning room is spacious for that number. The house is old & full of character. The owner was very welcoming, informative and  attentive to the glitches that arose. 

Unfinished repairs mainly cosmetic. A character old building / gardens that needs some TLC.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at this property. What was supposed to be a smooth and enjoyable stay quickly turned into a stressful and distressing ordeal. When we arrived, the property was in a filthy and disgusting state – dirty floors, bad odours, and an overall level of uncleanliness that made it completely uninhabitable. The attached pictures show the shocking condition we walked into. I had guests who had driven 6 hours down from Scotland and were already exhausted when we arrived. To be faced with such an appalling environment after a long journey was not only upsetting but extremely embarrassing for me as the host. We were left with no choice but to urgently find alternative accommodation, adding more unexpected costs and stress. This situation caused me a great deal of emotional distress. I spent hours trying to contact the property owner and Booking.com, only to be told that I would not receive a refund – despite clear evidence that the property was not fit for use. I felt completely unsupported and dismissed. I paid a significant amount of money for a property I couldn’t even use. It’s unacceptable that I was expected to tolerate such conditions and then denied any form of compensation. This has seriously damaged my trust in the platform and the booking process. I would strongly advise others to stay away from this property. No one should have to go through what I went through – especially not after paying a premium price for what was supposed to be a comfortable and welcoming place.

The size of the property was good but it needed a lot of TLC

The cleanliness was non existent, except the kitchen. The beds had not been changed and the towels were dirty. I received a call on checking in day to advise us to bring our own towels. As we were already on our way, this was not possible. Towels were left on the table but were not washed. They were all unclean with big dirty marks and makeup on them. Very disappointed. My daughter had to go and buy a sheet and pillowcase in order to use the bed.
