Cister House

a fantastic little apartment in Alcobaca. Very close to the Monastery and the main town. Very comfortable and the hosts very extremely nice and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!!

Everything was perfect

Location was good just a few minutes walk to the monastery and cafes.

The derelict building next door was horrible.

A well equipped apartment, close the central area. Owners were helpful in dealing with the problems encountered.

The address did not give a street number, or the apartment number. We had to ask around in local offices and shops, none of whom knew about the place. We rang the owner, who told us his wife was there, but we received no message to that effect, nor details of the location of the property. The hot water was not turned on and so we had cold showers on the first morning. This was dealt with when we rang, but we advise visitors to make sure the gas is turned on before the owner leaves! This is no fault of the owners, but our stay was badly affected by the people next door who kept a dog on the balcony next to us which barked incessantly all day and evening. It was therefore impossible to use the balcony and we had to go out to avoid the noise. It's a pity, this is potentially a nice place to stay, but we found it less than perfect.
