What's the point?

There's a bed, a shower and a toilet...and that's where the "fun" ends. You check in at least five days before and they take 200 Euros off you which supposedly they give back after 7 days after an inspection. The room is behind the company's office. How long does it take? There is a bin. But make sure you don't use it because they'll charge you €30 to empty it. Of course it's dark so the first thing you'll do is whack something while you find a light switch. To light the place properly there's about seven to find. (I dread to think what the carbon footprint is for a manufactured ambiance). Are the damaged bed, the broken mirror or the flickering lights something they're going to take out of your "deposit"? Or is any of the other stuff lying around going to be deemed "waste"? Or is it all part of the "game"? It's not an expensive room. Presumably the racket is that they take as much of your deposit as they can get away with.

Quirky apartment in a great location

Loved the quirky almost Edgar Allen Poe style experience. Lots of little trinkets around, it's intentionally dark and full of atmosphere. Still with modern facilities like a large walk-in shower. Staff not on site, but just around the corner in an office. Very detailed information on where to find the apartment and how to get in. Great location just behind the pedestrianised areas with bars ans restaurants.

The escape room game was fun, yet very frustrating as we never knew what to do next. Brilliant idea, but I found it quite hard to solve compared to other ones I've done. Even with the hints we actually didn't manage to finish the game.

A romantic medieval experience in the heart of La Roche-en-Ardenne.

The place exceeded our expectations! The room has an amazing atmosphere and the game is very entertaining. Flat screen tv with Netflix, spacious warm shower, modern heating, espresso machine and a comfortable bed. Perfect for people visiting the feudal castle or for couples seeking a romantic evening.

Stylish and comfortable stay, perfect location

Entering "le Fantôme de Berthe" was spectacular - we had fun discovering all the little details, decoration is very well done. The bathroom is spacious, we were able to park almost in front, you could walk everywhere in La Roche from there, we just loved the whole thing. We ended up booking an extra night!

Not much negative to say, these are just details! There were a lot of (confusing) messages ahead of time, we had to pay a separate deposit (not on booking.com), and messages continued even after we did that. Not super relevant as it's a bonus, but we couldn't find instructions to start the game. We did play it using the clue envelopes and that was fun, but something was clearly missing and we weren't sure when it actually ended.

Leuk spel!

Het spel is erg leuk om te spelen, maar wel ingewikkeld. Sommige stukken van het spel kun je moeilijk vinden als je niet helemaal ervaren bent met escaperooms. Niet te min, erg leuk spel. De kamer zelf was prima. Bedden zijn comfortabel. Omgeving is super (La folie 7 = aanrader en St James Gate = Aanrader)

Twee dingen staken toch wel een beetje er tussen uit. Wij kregen natuurlijk zoals iedereen de instructies toegestuurd. Ik boekte mijn reis ergens in Frankrijk als nood oplossing, dus na inchecken en borg, gelijk weer door. Adres gekopieerd en in de navigatie van de auto gezet. Na een (avontuurlijke) autorit kom ik uit in het centrum en snap niet echt hoe ik er kom. Na wat parkeren zien we dat onze routeplanner ons (terwijl we 50 meter van de locatie waren) door de halve ardennen heeft gestuurd :D. Ik weet niet hoe de verhuurder dit kan verbeteren en denk dat het meer mijn snelheid en onoplettendheid was Ander ding was het opruimen van de kamer. Tot op het terugleggen van alle elementen en het scheiden van al het afval en meenemen naar een afval locatie. Dat vind ik persoonlijk een beetje vreemd. Vooral omdat - als je je vuilnis netjes hebt opgeruimd, maar het zakje niet meeneemt - er 30 euro van je borg wordt afgehaald. Het zou normaal zijn in Airbnb's maar ik ben daar overduidelijk niet zo aangewend.

De ligging is super, vlakbij het centrum. De badkamer heeft alle comfort dat nodig is. Het sleutelbakje + code is praktisch. Het verhaal bij de kamer is erg goed en origineel gevonden maar moeilijk zonder tips.

Het hele gebouw is zeer vochtig waardoor alles een keldergeur heeft. Het bed is te smal en oncomfortabel. Geen extra's voorzien, twee padjes voor koffie en zeep en that's it. Het steegje met gasflessen voelt oncomfortabel aan. Geen direct daglicht mogelijk omdat gordijnen dicht dienen te blijven , overburen kijken binnen. Prijs-kwaliteit is niet in evenwicht.

Super aanrader

Is een super kamer met alles wat je nodig hebt voor een top weekend. Het spel vertrekt wat moeizaam (eerste stappen zijn nogal vergezocht), maar met de tips was het wel heel leuk en zit goed in elkaar. De locatie is super: vlakbij de hoofdstraat, maar niet IN de drukte. Volledig automatische afhandeling is vooral praktisch.

De deur houdt geen geluid tegen, maar dat is enkel een beetje vreemd wanneer de bovenburen aankomen of vertrekken.

Ik zou deze locatie aanbevelen aan vrienden !

De douche was zalig !!! Het bed lag heel goed. Het spel was niet zo makkelijk maar wel leuk om te doen. De ontvangst in de kamer met de flikkerende lantaarns en het haardvuur waren heel aangenaam.

De hygiene had iets beter gekund, er hingen nogal wat stof/spinnenwebben in de hoeken en zelfs in de douche. Gelukkig geen enkele spin gezien :-D

La comunicazione del codice per entrare non era chiara. Ho dovuto telefonare e chi mi ha risposto era scocciata. L'ingresso è in una via strettissima e sporca. La cosa peggiore e non ancora chiarita è che la Struttura ha voluto 200€ di cauzione per ottenere il pin per entrare, poi mi sono stati prelevati dalla Carta altri 200€ 2 giorni dopo essere andata via, alla telefonata 200 sono stati restituiti e i secondi 200 dopo 7 giorni. Questa cosa non è accettabile a mio parere e ne farò comunicazione. Quindi attenzione alla cauzione soprattutto se sulla carta non avete almeno 400€ a disposizione!!!

Ambiance top et salle de bain incroyable !

Le concept est incroyable ! Je n'avais jamais été dans une chambre de ce type, mais à refaire sans hésiter. Même si nous n'avons pas réussi à finir l'énigme, tout était super ! La douche.... La salle de bain dans son ensemble est fantastique ! Très très propre ! Les hôtes sont très réactifs aux messages (on a eu du mal à ouvrir la boîte à clefs 🤣).

Il n'y a pas de volet, j'avais peur d'être réveillée par la lumière, mais les rideaux sont totalement occultants. Une ou deux mini tables de chevet seraient les bienvenues, mais c'est pour chipoter 😄 On entend un peu les gens passer dans le hall d'entrée, on sort un peu de l'ambiance... Peut-être pourriez-vous plastifier les indices ? Il y avait un trou sur la couverture du lit, c'est dommage mais encore c'est pour chipoter tout était incroyable. Merci !

Chambre bien décorée, vu le thème . Propre et près de tout . Jeu bien construit même si pour nous c’était une première et que nous nous sommes servi des enveloppes. Endroit à découvrir.
