The Tv system did not work, no instructions and multiple remotes. Someone came out the next day and got things working. Deck and fireplace were not usable, under repair. The overall unit was pleasant with easy access to skiing.

Perfectly nice condo, nothing special but reasonably priced and basically what I was looking for.

In the middle of the night on my first night (7/9), the lights suddenly went on and there were 5 people walking around in my unit. I was sound asleep so I was confused and distressed. They had been given (erroneously) my unit number and the code to the front door lock. Before bed I had tried to set a bolt lock or override the door lock but neither was possible, so I had no security against people barging in. (There was no bolt or separate inside lock and the code for the door lock does NOT reset between guests, so anyone with the code could have come in at any time.) I consider this a serious lapse in security that should have been spotted and corrected when Vacasa on-boarded the property. I piled several chairs up behind the door in order to wedge the door shut and keep anyone else from entering that night. Follow up with Justin in the Warren VT office the next day was very good - he was very responsive and had maintenance install a hotel security lock that flips closed from inside the unit. But I had lost most of a night's sleep and had a very poor first day of vacation as a result. Justin offered me a modest but acceptable refund - inexplicably, Vacasa staff put in a request to Booking.com for half the refund that day (7/10) and didn't put in for the second half until 7/19. After two weeks with no refund received, the local Vacasa told me I needed to contact Booking.com. I could not find a phone number for them so I messaged thru their website. The 'bot said I would hear back within 24 hours but I never got a response. Finally I called the main Vacasa number and got a phone number for Booking.com, where the recording said my wait would be 30 minutes, which it was. The Booking.com person confirmed that they had received Vacasa's request for the refund but said they had not processed it. My strong sense is that if I had not called they would not have initiated payment.
