Quinta dos Caseiros do Paço de Giela

There are two homes here and we stayed in the converted cowshed which is beautifully converted to a high standard inside and fully equipped if you wish to self-cater. Air conditioning was a plus and necessary. There is a wood fired BBQ outside which we used and a stunning stone table. There is a very attractive private pool about 10m long shared by both homes with lovely sunbeds, and our host kindly provided temporary umbrellas as the others had been damaged by strong winds before our arrival and there will be a permanent sun-awning installed soon. . The grounds are lovely, full of fruit trees and nicely landscaped, the neighbours also have pigs, cows and goats. Fabulous location very convenient for Alcos da Valdevez by car where all the normal facilities/ shops can be found. Highly recommend a visit to O Lagar which is a local portugese restaurant for fabulous meat dishes. Our host, João, was very welcoming and helpful. We ended up staying on for an extra night!

If you have limited mobility the converted cowshed would not suit as there are steps down into it and the bedroom is a balcony loft style upstairs but there is the option of a sofa bed downstairs in the lounge, not a problem for us but worth noting. The pool sunbeds are very low to the floor, they are very stylish and comfortable, but getting up elegantly is impossible and caused quite a few laughs, personally I would prefer something higher but that's just my preference. There is a municipal road running to the rear of the property but it wasn't particularly busy, certainly not at night, and didn't disturb us.

Zona envolvente extremamente calma, piscina incrível, alojamento muito limpo e bem equipado

A cama não é muito confortável e o quarto pouco arejado, mas compreendo por ser “cave”

Adoramos a simpatia dos anfitreões e a prontidão dos mesmos em resolver os nossos pedidos! O sítio é de uma paz incrível e adoramos que deu pra cozinhar, tem possibilidade de fazer churrascos e a zona ao ar livre é muito bonita!!

Piscina en buen estado

Ubicación alejada de la zona centro. La distribución de la casita muy incómoda. No apta para personas con movilidad reducida. Escaleras a la entrada sin luz de balizamiento. Suelo del piso de la habitación poco estable, produciendo ruido en cada pisada. No me sentí cómodo como en otros alojamientos de la zona. Relación calidad- precio muy desfavorable. Personal bien y piscina en buen estado. Una línea aérea de alta tensión, cruza la finca. Obviamente no es la paz que buscaba
