Great place to stay for a family of 4 with dogs, in a great location.

A lovely warm, clean, high quality cottage throughout. A very well equipped kitchen (crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, serving bowls and utensils etc), with a good sized fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, kettle, 'nespresso style' coffee maker, oven & hob and plenty of cupboard space for purchased food. The open plan layout downstairs created plenty of room for 4 people to eat at the dining room table or relax on one of the 3 x 2-seater sofas in front of the fire and TV. Upstairs the bedrooms had everything we needed, with comfy beds and plenty of cupboard / drawer space for clothes, and hairdryers in both bedrooms. The bathroom was modern with a powerful over the bath shower and always plenty of hot water. A small enclosed outdoor space and wooden / tiled floors downstairs (instead of carpets) made it suitable for dogs. Together with a door to close off the kitchen and a gate at the bottom of the stairs to prevent them going upstairs. Great location. Quiet street which we had no problem parking on outside or very close to the house. Only a 5-10 walk from the shops and pubs in the centre of Keswick, and only 5 mins from the lovely Fitz park for the dogs' morning and evening walks.

House was beautiful. Lovely and warm up on arrival. Had everything you could need. Comfy beds. Lots of books DVDs and games.

Nothing major Parking. Street was full had to park In the side street to unpack then parked further up the street. Very creaky floor boards upstairs. Only tv in 1 bedroom (little boy was happy with this)

Lovely property in a great location!

Great location - 5-10 mins leisurely stroll from centre of Keswick. Well equipped house full of home comforts, lots of thought has obviously gone into the property, with loads of lovely touches. Would recommend and would visit again for sure.

We didn’t find the beds massively comfortable although they are not awful by any means and probably because we are used to specific mattresses at home. An outdoor tap would have been great to wash mucky paws before entry and an outside light for the rear/side of the house would be useful.

Great location, great property

Great little house with everything you need for an easy, pleasant and comfortable self catering stay in keswick. Great location, great facilities, very comfy beds.

The garden area had a raised section that had slate chippings in it but lots of odd metal ornaments and rather overgrown bushes and ivy in it. This made it very awkward for my rather old and arthritic dog to go for a wee late at night before bed. Could do with clearing some of the lower bushes and ornaments to make the garden property accessible for the older canine visitors as the house itself was perfect.

Location fantastic - property not clean - genital hair in bed and dog hairs everywhere.

The location is excellent. Kitchen facilities are also very good.

The property had not been cleaned thoroughly. The bedding had bodily hair in it. There were empty chocolate wrappers in the bedside tables as well as a few other random things which had been left from previous guests.. Very off putting as it clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were also a lot of dog hairs throughout the property over the cushions and blankets etc. Would not stay here again as the property was not clean. Also the heating needs looking at as it was cold in the house with all the heating on. Didn't warm up to a comfortable level. Also had to chase for the deposit we put down which should be returned automatically. Has lots of potential though and the bathroom was spotless.

Lovely clean well equipped house

Really loved the house, Close to Keswick, good size, clean, really comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, lovely welcome pack with drinks and biscuits, lovely small outside area, sky t.v,

Everything was great, only thing we were missing was a brush or hoover as we did a lot of walking and the was mud on our boots when we went in which we had to scoop up in our hands!

An excellent Xmas break at Byways !

Byways was very clean, warm and cosy and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay . The shower is excellent ! We were able to park our car very near to the house which is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and a conveniently short walk from Keswick town centre and nearby Fitz park

A great little place to stay .

The property was excellent in every way . well furnished , lovely and warm, clean and only a very short walk into Keswick , situated in a quiet residential area. Very dog friendly with a small yard . Very well stocked with kitchen equipment if you wanted to cook. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back .
