La casa está en una ubicación excelente, con un entorno natural que invita a la tranquilidad y a la relajación.

I would like to emphasize that there are a lot of very personal opinions in this review. I've tried to indicate why I feel the way I feel, so that other people can decide 'this doesn't count for me' easily. And please don't be put off by the fact that I rated the location as 'not so good'. This was due to to the fact that we travel by electric car and the facilities to charge were a little too far away for comfort. Also, the access road is good but if you're not used to travelling in a mountainous area can be a little hard. The house is about 45 minuten from Cordoba, once you're out of the mountains the roads are perfect but it takes some time to get there. Villaviciosa is 7 km by mountainn road, about 10-15 minutes by car. There is a good Dia supermarket. Let me start by saying that if the owner was very friendly and helpful and Manueal, her caretaker, really helped us settle in. If you want peace & quiet, this is certainly the right place to come!! There are no close by neighbours, the property is gated, it's very 'away from everything'. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The next door neighbour only came on to the property to work on his garden every day and gave us loads and loads of the very best tomatoes, aubergines, peppers and melons I've ever tasted in my life. I loved the kitchen as I like to cook, and it was very well equipped (even had sharp knives, a rarity in holiday homes). The bathroom was OK. The shower is in the bath, this is something we don't like much but is perfectly fine to work with. The pool is awesome. The water stays cool even in the hottest temps, and we had plenty of those. There are lights in the pool so you can even enjoy an evening swim. The terrace behind the house is very tranquillo, with nice views of the area. We spent most of our evenings sitting outside on the terrace in the cooling evening breeze, so very enjoyable....

I expected there to be airconditioning in all the bedrooms. This was for me actually a reason why I chose this property (one of the kids does not take the heat well and aircon would've really helped). When we arrived, it turned out that there was aircon in the living room, but in the bedrooms there were ceiling fans. Normally I would not object to fans, but this year it was so hot that it would have made our stay very much more comfortable with the aircon. I think this is a really Dutch statement but I'll make it anyway: the beds were a little too narrow for our happiness (160 vs. our usual 180). On the other hand, that can be good for your relationship as well :-) The only other thing is that the chairs outside could be more comfortable.
