The apartment is in a village. The village is beautifully landscaped, the pool is beautiful. The owners were very helpful. The apartment is really cute. They had a washing machine, which was great.
The price was a little high, and then electricity is charged on top of that. We have been all over Costa Rica and this was the most expensive place but not the largest or or most comfortable. Most of the restaurants, pharmacy, and retail is quite a ways from the location. We did not have a car and we normally walk everywhere when we stay. This place we could walk to a little grocery store and three sodas which are typical local places, which were good. For eveything else we had to use cabs which are not abundant in Portreo. If you have a car, this would not be a challenge for you.
