Il castello si trova proprio in cima al monte in cui si stende il paese di Viggianello. Location perfetta per cerimonie e banchetti e anche per fare base nel cuore del Parco del Pollino. Un pochino fuori mano rispetto agli assi viari principali (venendo dalla Calabria ci si ritrova a guidare tra monti e tornanti in mezzo a boschi e vallate: per me bellissimo ma a qualcuno potrebbe non piacere). Dalla terrazza del castello si dominano le vallate circostanti. Personale cortese e professionale, camera ampia con frigobar e una vista mozzafiato sui boschi sottostanti. Abbiamo cenato al castello (tutto molto buono) e colazione al mattino buona.
La strada per arrivare al castello è stretta e seminascosta. Noi ci abbiamo girato intorno per un po': Google Maps non riesce a portarvi esattamente al Castello perchè ad un certo punto si deve imboccare un viottolo anonimo stretto (ci passa a mala pena una sola auto) che porta su su fino al castello. Una maggiore trasparenza sul fatto di dover affrontare un ultimo tratto di strada impegnativo sarebbe utile: fornire agli ospiti una guida (o meglio ancora un minivideo) su come comportarsi con l'auto per arrivare al castello sarebbe una trovata carina e utile.

The castle is beautiful, but the road up to it extremely difficult to maneuver with any car larger than a Fiat, and it was too far to walk into the village in the evening, so not much to do. The room was lovely, but the young staff very distant and not terribly friendly (especially after our previous stay with delightful hosts in Pompeii and Rome). Dinner in elegant dining room was weird. Took a long time to get served, in spite of plenty of staff, not friendly and a huge big screen TV played British pop hits loudly, displaying the singers' photos during the songs. Twin beds (antiques) were attractive but extremely narrow. Never got to find out much about the town.
