Karin's Beach Loft, Playa del Cura

Joana met us to hand over keys and answer any questions - very pleasant and helpful. Amazing view from the apartment, great balcony and in a nice location. Generally quiet - some evenings music would drift up from the town, but never intrusively loud or late. Beach and local restaurants within walking distance, as long as you are ok to walk back up the very steep hill for a short distance. I'm sure we improved our fitness during our stay! Access to the apartment is via lifts and then a few steps to the apartment. Very well equipped apartment, nice shower, large double bedroom, good washing machine. There are two swimming pools on site - one up on the roof which is heated and very pleasant. Never busy during our off-season stay. The second pool is lower down in the complex, we never saw anyone in that pool, probably because it is not heated (we visited in December) and the poolside restaurant/bar is currently closed (I believe it has been closed for some time). There is an excellent local bus service to most places on the island, running late into the evening. We hired a car, but given how good the bus service is, we didn't really need to. Google maps is great for telling you which bus to get, when it is coming and exactly where the bus stop is. There is a nice local beach an easy walk from the apartment, generally nice and quiet although it has few facilities. We liked Amadores beach, which is about 30-40mins walk east along the beaches, with a short section over rocks between two of the beaches. Lots of bars/restaurants/sunbeds etc and lovely sand, nice to swim in the sea, It was quite busy but never overcrowded during our visit, might get very busy in the high season. Having such a lovely beach in walking distance meant we didn't have to drive so we could have some beers in the bars there.

Can be difficult to find, so make sure you ask the host, before you arrive, for detailed directions to find the exact building. Once we asked we were provided with all the information we needed, the host was very helpful. Wouldn't suit disabled or anyone with mobility problems, due to those steps to the apartment and the steep hill, but we noticed there are some apartments with step free access in the complex. However, I wouldn't like to try to push a wheelchair up that hill! We noticed that having one shower almost uses up the hot water, although it does heat up again quite quickly, so with two people, you need to have a pause between your showers to allow it to reheat. One oddity is that in an apartment for two people, only one sunbed is provided for the balcony - there is room and it would make more sense to provide two - although not a big deal for us. Note that there is no aircon, no problem for us visiting in December with overnight temps in the mid to high teens, but might be an issue if you are visiting mid summer with high temperatures. None of the above were a problem for us, but I mention them in case they might affect you.

Un apartamento excelente. No le hace falta absolutamente nada, tiene todo lo necesario para que la estancia sea un éxito. La decoración es muy moderna, todo esta muy limpio. La cocina está totalmente equipada, no echarás de menos ningún electrodoméstico. El salón es super bonito y super cómodo, tiene una mesa de comedor muy útil y un sofá cama muy bueno. La televisión tiene de todo, tanto TDT como smart TV. El baño es una delicia, la ducha es espectacular. El dormitorio también es de alta calidad, con unos colchones muy cómodos para dormir. Y la terraza es el punto estrella del apartamento. Te da la opción de cerrarlo completamente del sol con toldos, o de abrirlo y que entre el sol. Tiene una mesa muy grande y bonita, y ofrecen una barbacoa a sus huéspedes, aunque nosotros no la utilizamos, y a todo eso se le suman unas vistas al mar de ensueño. Recomendamos mucho este alojamiento. Nosotros, volveremos a repetir sin duda. Su anfitriona Karin y su co-anfitriona Joana son personas maravillosas, nos ayudaron en todo lo que pedimos.

No tiene ningún punto negativo. Todo es espectacular!!!

L'appartamento, nonostante sia in un complesso abitativo molto grande (sono tutti appartamenti a ridosso di una montagna fronte-mare), è risultato silenziosissimo. Ottima la pulizia. La cucina è completa di tutte le stoviglie e accessori necessari per cucinare: non manca davvero nulla. Come elettrodomestici manca solo la lavastoviglie e, al posto del forno, c'è un fornetto. Presente anche un forno a microonde. piano di cottura ad induzione e lavatrice. In 5 minuti a piedi si raggiunge la prima spiaggia (Playa del Cura) In 5 minuti di macchina, una delle spiagge più belle dell'isola (Playa Amadores). Lo consiglierei ad occhi chiusi.
