Quiet in the middle of mountain at Oberalp Pass, where rh train station is nearby, with a gondola and a lift station for easy access.
No alternative transportation to get back to Andermatt if heavy snow closes the base.

Location at Oberalpass with magnificent views. Right next to the train station. Dinner menu was fixed & very hearty.
Share bathroom & toilet worked well.

High altitude hotel, practically the only one in the area. Lovely staff, simple but good meals and outstanding location to start our bike ride by the Rhine.
Shared bathroom - a bit of traffic during the morning.

Breakfast was very good given the remoteness of the location.
The beds were on the softer side.

We only stayed for one night but we had all we needed. Comfortable, clean (including shared bathroom). Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Dogs allowed. Heating was on in the room as it gets pretty cold outside at night.
Only one bathroom on each floor (6-7 rooms). Paid parking (5€/day).

Wonderful location, dinner menu quite complete as well as breakfast. Personnel very kind.
The bathroom has no shower, there is a common bathroom to use it. There is no private parking, but the area is safe.

Beautiful winter location. Isolated and directly at the ski lifts. Excellent breakfast.

Loved the location, and the food at night was next level.
The only way to get back to Andermatt was via train, so this is not a great option for someone with a tight timeline.

Breakfast was great and the location was very impressive. We had the half board one evening and it was delicious
We booked the triple room and didn't realize the bed frames would interfere for couples. Also, if there's fresh snow be aware of the avalanche mitigation that begins early in the morning - it feels and sounds like a bomb

Lovely looking hotel that sits on a great driving road. The staff were lovely and polite speaking good English. Breakfast was lovely too. I woke up to 4" of snow covering my car and the staff we happy to provide me with tools to clear it.
There was also a 50" (approx) TV in my room with Fire Stick installed, so I could watch youtube/netflix etc which was a nice touch.
The only thing letting this hotel down is the shared bathroom, thankfully when I stayed there it was very quiet so I didn't have to contend with others for the facilities, but even so they're dreadfully dated. If the hotel invested in more modern facilities for the shared bathrooms and sinks in the bedrooms I would stay here again.
There was also only 1 electrical socket in the entire room, so if you watch TV you can't use the bedside lamp or charge your phone.

I love the location of his place. So close to many areas to hike and explore. The breakfast was good, the resto is really good, the staff is amazing and train connection is good as well.
I enjoy this place and it is my second time here. This is not a luxury hotel so please do not expect this. It is a very nice and comfortable mountain hotel with a really nice staff, great views and access to mountains :)

The setting was amazing up in the mountains. It was disappointing that due to a delayed rail journey we arrived as it was going dark and left in rain and mist, so missed seeing the best of the location, which would have been a highlight of our holiday. The hotel were helpful regarding our late arrival and made plans for us when we arrived hours past check in. The room was comfortable and very welcoming after a very tiring and stressful day of travelling. The machine for drinks and chocolate was also a bonus as we had missed meals. Breakfast amazing. Would love to stay again when the sun is shining. Not used to staying where a bathroom is shared but this was no problem and access easy and room clean and always available when needed. Safe storage for our bikes provided too.
The weather!!

The room was great. The breakfast was good. A super safe place to store our bikes. Restaurant and breakfast room were great.
Being told we had to order food before 1900. Having no option for our evening meal. The price for the room and the restaurant was the highest we have paid since we left the UK on our 6 week cycle tour of Europe.

The Staff and location
VERY expensive not to have en suite bathroom! Not even a loo. Had to share and bathroom was down the Hall. This is a hostel not a hotel

Great location right next to the train station, perfect for biking or hiking to the source of the Rhine. Good breakfast, dinner available (which is good, because there wasn't anything else open). Sink in the room, and slippers available for walking down the hall to the toilet/bath. Indoor bicycle storage. Public WiFi worked well. A simple, but nice, hotel.

Location.
Basic, rooms were dated curtains didn’t fit.
Unpleasant encounter with staff.
We arrived earlier than time set to get entry for room so at that point we thought we might have lunch rather than drive down to Andermatt before returning to book in.
My wife went to the toilet and when she returned we decided not to have lunch there but instead go to Andermatt for lunch then return later to book in.
A staff member accused my wife of only stopping here to use the toilet and demanded 1 Swiss franc, I explained that we were in fact staying here that evening and we would be booking in later. She got angry and asked for the money. I said I didn’t have 1 Swiss franc so she asked for 2 euros.
I gave her the money.
Incredibly rude doesn’t even describe her manner.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Safe bike storage in their garage. After having paid a nonrefundable rate, I left a day early; the proprietor refunded me half the room rate, which I thought was extremely fair, considering by rights, he did not have to refund anything. Thanks!
