The property is nice and the rec area is nice and so is the pool.

What I didn’t like was that one of the beds was broken so we had to sleep on the floor and the couch. I mentioned it to management and they said they would reach out to me and never did. When I was persistently calling, they finally said that the bed was never broken when the bed had a broken peg.

Good enough stay for 4th of July fireworks

It served the purpose of being not far from the main street and walking distance from the fireworks watch point. There was good parking and even a Tesla charger.

Like most properties in Big Bear this one was somewhat shabby. The front desk person made us pay extra for early check in suggesting they were full which makes no sense since we came 40 min early and there HAD to be a room for us anyways. Then he wanted to offer us some other pay for extras. Overall felt like we’re being taken advantage of.

Cute boutique hotel feel

The rooms are spacious with a boutique feel. Walking distance to the Village.

The bathroom does not have enough space for toiletries, and the shower would go from hot to cold. No ice machine, but they sell ice.

Nice hotel for the price

We had an excellent stay for one night at Sierra Blue. The hotel was nice, compact and clean. The pool was open but we didn’t have the time to really test it. Location is perfect and the staff was AMAZING, everyone was so helpful and nice and checking in and out was a breeze.

The building itself is old and the walls are not that soundproof but it didn’t bother our stay. For someone who is a light sleeper I would maybe recommend earplugs at night.

Wonderful short-term stay

This property is very centrally located, two blocks away from the main street area. Despite its proximity, it was very quiet. The manager, Louie, was incredibly welcoming and personable. It was so fun chatting with him and he told us that there are plans to put a speakeasy in the building. The rooms were in very good condition. This is one of a few places in Big Bear that has air conditioning, which was very important during the recent heat wave. We will definitely be back.

My only complaint, and this is not the hotel‘s fault, is that whoever was in the room above us was a heavy walker and they were unfortunately up in the middle of the night and also very early in the morning. I’m a light sleeper so this was an issue for me. Might not be an issue for others. If you can, try to get a room on the third floor!

Very comfy and perfect hotel

I loved it and plan to go back, but I couldn't say yes on expectations because the pool and spa was out of service, I liked everything else tho and do plan to come back when the pool and spa are available. It's 10 mins walk to the lake, lots of blankets, pillows, space, free wifi, free Lil stuff like teas and coffee, UT feels home like, the other thing that was a tad disappointing was that one staff that was like cleaning didn't know how to start the fire pit outside that too was disappointing but.. maybe next time someone will know or they'll have enough propane in the tank.

Late staff didn't know how to help with the fire pit, no pool, no spa, it was under construction. But front desk staff was very nice.

Not what I expected.

Well appointed rooms, I liked the vibe. Close to town, which was nice.

This is an OLD motel that hasn't been fully renovated. The Pool area, in my opinion, is a health hazard. It has black mold (or possibly mildew) on the ceilings and the ceiling itself needs major repair. We also found a couple of bugs in our bed so we left immediately. I also didn't like that there wasn't a live person at the front desk - kind of an odd feeling. I think they are halfway there to a great hotel. They've done a lot to make it nice, but it still feels old like it needs more work.

Is it a hotel, or a death trap.

I liked how the hotel was pet friendly and near the village.

I did not like; however, there was no wheelchair access to the top floor. I didn't like how there were open holes with black mold on the ceiling in the pool area that slowly dripped into the pool. Also had electric air purification right next to the pool/ hot tub on the ground! My room had a microwave that was unplugged, and the only way to plug it in was to unplug the ac unit. I had trouble locking my door, and the roof had access to the attic but no lock, which made me feel uncomfortable. Also, there was no phone in the bedroom.

Location

The floor was littered with debris, small pieces of trash, and dirt. The bed linens were stained. I waited at the front desk for 15 minutes before being helped. Overall, this was a terrible experience.

Despite the niceties I cannot recommend the Sierra Blue because of the noise.

Very nice staff and a great location in the village. My room had been updated nicely and the bed was comfortable. Parking was easy.

The walls are basically without any sound proofing. While my room was on the first floor I could hear every foot step in the room above me and the cleaning staff's washing machines in the room next to mine. Even earplugs didn't help.

For the money it was fine

Location & updated

Trash under our beds that was not ours, feet with filthy from floors so I had to mop with Clorox wipes, no outdoor fire pit and we booked because we wanted an out door common space with our group.

Good location in a nicely renovated older hotel

The location was great. I loved how the property has been updated. It’s an older property that has highlighted the cool aspects. All three of us voted that we’d stay there again instead of the big hotel just around the corner where we had stayed the last time.

We didn’t really have anything negative to say. We were only there for one night. We did not visit the pool so I can’t comment on that.

The location was convenient and walkable to town. And they were okay with me having the dogs with… so huge plus for that.

The only complaint I had was that my ceiling fan didn’t work… but the wall AC unit did a good job keeping the room cool. It was a little noisy but it did the job.

Room was nice. Location was excellent.

Customer service not really existent. The front desk isn't staffed and no one responds to the text they have for the front desk. I had to call to actually get service. The heater in our room didn't appear to work but we weren't cold. One of the floorboards under the bed was raising up. Room was pricey but everything in big bear is. The location was excellent I just wish that customer service was better and they responded to texts like they said they would. Oh and the guest WiFi wasn't working. Hopefully they resolve all of these concerns. They're all totally fixable. It's a very nice location and the rooms were nice.

Higher price, but worth it.

The staff are very accommodating. We were easily able to book a second night. Our room was was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. The bed was very comfy. Liked the retro microwave and refrigerator. Plenty of natural light (big window) we had a view of the mountains. Travel by car to ski area was about 5-8 minutes away. Easy peasy.

The price was a bit high, $185 incl. taxes, for one night. But we did not take advantage of most of the amenities. Were too busy enjoying the ski area.

Great location! Super cute and cozy.

Super clean, comfortable, perfect walking to the village area with restaurants and shops. Short distance to Big Bear and snow summit. We brought our dog which was important for us and they were very accommodating.

We are not hard to please so I can't think of anything at the moment unless I were trying to be picky. I think it was great.
